34:29 Hi Adam, with your running of trains, could you run the Union Pacific and the Santa Fe?

I am working on a bridge this way so great to see you used it!
@AdamsBrickJunctionКүн бұрын
Yes! The bridges worked really well and were used throughout the weekend at the show. Good luck with your bridge!
@neilrusling-je6zo3 күн бұрын
How stunning is the Thorpe House, the cuteness level is through the roof, and the deliberate spelling mistake of the word Skool is simply golden. The train though is number one, I always appreciate more realistically scaled carriages because they seem so rare with Lego carriages usually being barely half the length they should be. Model makers usually use the five to one rule, so a carriage length should be five times the height for it to look realistic. So if your carriage is ten bricks high it needs to be fifty bricks long to be realistic, and those carriages certainly looked like they followed the 5 to 1 rule.

@neilrusling-je6zo4 күн бұрын
Was the red and black coal train a 10wide, I was trying to count and I kept getting 10 then 8, then 10, then 8, but it is so hard when you are dealing with tiles. As far as the display goes I am going to have to be harsh, there was a building that had a sign saying "GAS" but I am fairly sure what it sold was not Gas, I think it was in fact selling a Liquid and not a gas because there was no a pressurised containers on the forecourt that could have held gas. I would hazard a guess it was in fact selling Petroleum Spirit, a highly inflammable liquid commonly used as a fuel in internal combustion engines, so not a Gas at all. So for including a building that blatantly violates the Trade Descriptions Act and the Advertising Standards code of conduct I am forced to knock off a few points, so I can only give the display 23.8 out of 10, still an excellent score, but it could have been higher if not for the illegal building and the lack of a certain Kalksteen Masterpiece. Still, 23.8 out of 10 is not bad at all, have fun building!
@silvesterpeel53794 күн бұрын
I'd probably not show the Kalksteen if a Lego rep is walking around. They're still, after all the sets sold before the lawsuit

Is your real job Lego, or does your real job only have you "working" for twenty minutes per week, how do you have the time to do all this great Lego building for what must be 60-100 hours per week when I am lucky if I can get 3 hours per week Lego time. This ones more of an Earth Green with envy...I am picturing you strolling into the office, signing a few forms, documents and cheques, having a quick look to make sure nothing is on fire, and then telling your secretary you will be back at work and see her same time next month while you jump back into the Bentley to get back to the Lego. Sounds Glorious!...Have fun building. What annoys me is back when I was at school no one informed me that your job was even an option, because I would definitely have picked it
@AdamsBrickJunction4 күн бұрын
No Bentley and sadly work is more than twenty minutes per week. :) LEGO is still a hobby, but I'm trying to put more time into it as I have a lot of interesting projects to work on and lots of potential videos to film.

13:33 If you do, you could impose a weight limit on that bridge ie. a 6 car steam train. Or 4 car diesel train.

Those are interesting couplers. How do they work with the lego couplers?

Have you posted about those couplers before? I've seen them in MOCs that don't use the entire buffer piece, but original Lego is pricy cause they're all 20 years old.

Looks stunning. I am always on the look out for small train themed designs to fill a lot of spots I have with nothing because of how the track curves make fitting larger buildings impossible, I have a lot of empty spots where I could see this fitting really well.

You are a building maniac. I think that's like 5 buildings in a few days along with your track work and lights. Do you have any help like from your wife or friend. Can't wait for the next build.

If you're gonna use it make the loading deck usable to load or unload train cars or if you're not there are buildings that are being used but never use the loading deck anymore
@jrmilchling921510 күн бұрын
so make a cantilever deck or move the building over on the mils plate
@silvesterpeel537910 күн бұрын
Hi Adam, one thing you could do with the other side is run a section of track to a coal bunker and conveyor belt for a coal tender.
@silvesterpeel537910 күн бұрын
If you don't want overhang. You could make a folding ramp that lowers to the car. Like a truck dock.
@MarkTheLostTraveler10 күн бұрын
Lights will be really cool, and a wide load could be a problem. I think I asked this question before, but I can't remember. So, when you buy the instruction from brick train depot. I'm guessing they show you what parts you need to buy. Ruffly what was the cost of this after buying all the parts. Can you maybe just show what you get in the instruction. Just like one page of what it's like. I hope this made sense to you Thank you.
@AdamsBrickJunction10 күн бұрын
You get the instructions plus the part requirements that you can use on Bricklink for buying everything you need. This building was roughly $400-$500 (Canadian) I believe.

In the township I live in, the signals to the north are permanent red/red until a grain train is held in the yard. Better explanation here. kzbin.info/www/bejne/b2e2pn-Orc1pgtEsi=bFViomyboYr-BXiS
@AdamsBrickJunction14 күн бұрын
That is interesting. Always cool to see how different areas handle their signals.
@MarkTheLostTraveler14 күн бұрын
I Like that but how does the brickstuff Power Connectors compare to the Trixbrix Signal Light system.
@mattb.235914 күн бұрын
Its more of a personal choice. So just pick one an go with it. The Brickstuff signals are $50 each, which trixbrix is $11, each, but then you need the cable $1-$4 each, then the control box which is $22. All just depends on how much you are willing the spend. But if you are going to be doing signals, then it needs to be done the right way with blocks, which I'm not sure if either company does at the moment. But it also seems the trixbrix does use wire that is going to be harder to hide on the signal mast, but its a choice.
@AdamsBrickJunction14 күн бұрын
It is ultimately a personal choice. I haven't used the TrixBrix Signal Light system so I can't comment on how it works. I use Brickstuff for all of my layout lighting so it is nice to just continue using the same system for everything.

In the empty space beside the train shed, you could put a yard office, storage sheds, or other buildings to give the yard a little more character and make it more interesting
@boulevardbricks50815 күн бұрын
Heya! Put the clock back on, and you can even park 8-wide cars. The solution? Park flat cars and short open hoppers there that don't have a vertical clearance problem. 👍Also, would love to see a short video about the Procor tank car you have in the railyard. Thanks, Adam!
@silvesterpeel537915 күн бұрын
Hello Adam, With your new sidings, what sort of buffer system are you leaning on?
@AdamsBrickJunction14 күн бұрын
Do you mean buffer stops at the end of each siding? I haven't considered what to put there yet, but I should add something. It would not only look good, but would also keep cars from accidentally rolling off the table.

I see you did take the clock off on the train shed. The lights look great around the shed. The layout is going to look great at night with it lit up.
@AdamsBrickJunction15 күн бұрын
Yes! Even a six wide train couldn't handle the clock being there so I took it off. I am looking forward to seeing how the lights all look together. I have been wanting to add lighting throughout the rail yard and industrial area for a while so it is nice to start seeing it come together.
