VOLUME ??? I M Surprised no one else mentioned how low the volume is , It would be nice if you reissued this video with the volume fixed . I really enjoy these old movies but it makes it hard to enjoy when you strain to hear what being said . But thanks anyway

Muy lindo video. Lastima omitiste la primera época de los camiones IH de ruedas macizas y motores de 4 clindros que va desde la WW1 hasta la serie C

"It runs. It drives. It can do about anything." Truer words were never spoken. They sum up the IH Scout perfectly.

First truck I ever drove was a 1951 L series 2 ton truck. 240 Silver Diamond and I think a 4 speed with 2 speed axle. Returning from the service in 1975, I was driving a 1973 Fleetstar 2010A with a 549 V8 and a 5&4. Over the years I drove many more (newest was a '09 school bus) and I still have a '68 Loadstar 1800 series with a 392 V8 and a 5&2.

Such a shame that they went out of business. I love Scouts!
@solracer66Ай бұрын
Well technically the company never went out of business but they stopped building anything but large trucks and changed their name to Navistar. But on September 25 2024 they rebranded again, this time to International Motors LLC. The Scout name has of course been spun off as Scout Motors who just introduced the new Scout Terra and Scout Traveler but I believe the only connection between the two companies is that they are both subsidiaries of the Volkswagen Group.

I drove several International fire engines in the 1970s. Tough, but under powered going up hills. It was embarassing to be passed on the way to a fire!😅

I'm 71 and I also drove a lot of these trucks! Starting with my dad's 1936 half ton. The first one i got paid to drive was a KB10! The last international was a 9670 but my favorite was the transmission star2!

I had an L210 450 Red Diamond, 5x3, eaton rears on hendrickson walking beam. W-45 Holmes Wrecker on it. I towed some seriously heavy stuff with it. It wasn't exactly fast, but enough gearing to let it idle and release the clutch and walk away like it wasn't even loaded. I don't remember anything breaking on the truck, It was all just wear items, tires, brakes, maybe now and again a light out. It was a really tough truck

I had to drive Cornbinders for a freight company for years. Miserable pieces of doo doo. Everything works. Briefly. It gets to the point where it’s the engine lights and heater that work. And so noisy.

It looks like such a practical vehicle for basic transportation. And we can’t build something this utilitarian today because, why?

Owned a '76 with the 345....shortest axle ratio I ever saw. 10-12mpg no matter how you drove it. Huge steering wheel, about 5 turns lock to lock. Oddly, no detents on the door hinges...they wouldn't stay open on their own. Heavy, interesting 4X4

I bought a new IH pick-up in 1974. 4x4, automatic with 345ci V-8. It was a true "Gas Guzzler" with a single 15-gallon tank. The dealer could never get the automatic choke to work after countless attempts. I finally threw the towel in a got rid of it after less than a year. Without ANY doubt it was the worst truck I ever owned. Then went with a new Dodge and it was the 2nd worst.
