Ive been jumping rope since I was a teen for 2-4 times a week and 30-45 min straight. I have done an hr a few times. Its my primary mode of cardio and it is like an art and fun. I always jump and move to the rhythm of my music mixes. My movements and tricks are mostly self taught and learned over almost 3 decades of experience. I also do some stationary peloton bike and a bit of running/Sprints. Running use to be my primary thing in my teens and 20s. In my 30s (42 now) I switched to primary jump rope and stationary bike. Jump rope and punching bag workouts are the most fun and motivating cardio.

If I'm constantly in calorie deficit, how do I prevent my body to go into this emergency or whatever mode where it starts to store fat because it thinks I'm dying?
@MensIntelligenceAgency9 сағат бұрын
Alcohol does not stop fat burn. Calories in, calories out. If you drank five beers and were in a calorie deficit, you would lose weight. This is utter nonsense
@irynarowlands40129 сағат бұрын
Would it be same calorie burn without a rope? (low ceiling)

I have been consistently jumproping for a few weeks 3-4 times a week and I’ve been on a calorie deficit (excluding Sundays bcoz I go out with my family and I treat myself a lil on Saturdays as well) and my weight hasn’t budged. I’m a 5’0 woman who weighs 138 lbs and I’m feeling kinda stuck. I do feel a little lighter and I wonder if it’s coz I’m gaining muscle somewhere but 3 weeks and no budge on the scale is what gets me :/ Maybe I shouldn’t treat myself on Sundays?

Definitely eating too much is the problem for me too, even if healthy clean meals. Luckily growing muscle makes it easier to burn too 🔥💪😊🍖🍠

I'll have to get out my weighted ropes from 5 lb 4lb 3lb 2 lb 1 lb say about 20 jumps each and then speed rope for 100 jumps and I'll bet I'll be wore out in 30 minutes easy and ice cold water on stand by then an easy 1/2 mile hike to cool down !!! How that sound for a 62 year old man in pretty good shape !!!

It’s honestly tougher for people like me who have severe adhd We lack impulse control, and issues with our executive functioning so we know what we need to do But our divergent brains don’t wanna let us do it And no it’s not an excuse the science is there

16/8 intermittent fasting and slow jump rope in the evening is enough for me. As a lazy busy Asian that consumes rice on a daily basis, this style still works for me. LOL.

@JumpRopeDudes Pretty well. I'm noticing a huge difference in my arms and back, although I still seem to have a major difference in strength between my lower body and my upper body. My lower body seems to be naturally strong, but my upper body has always been very weak. I'm not sure why. I think I may have scoliosis or something weird because the curves on my torso are very uneven. I was told I had it when I was in 8th grade, but they told me I'd grow out of it. The problem is, I didn't grow much after that. I stopped growing around that time. I'm only 5'2". I'm going to talk to my doctor about it.
