Packers fan here, but I want to compliment you on the VLOG. We are going next year staying at Old Faithful Inn. I’m watching all sorts of videos and yours is one of the most enjoyable to watch!

Aw, thanks! I enjoy making them. And, as long as you're not a Cowboys or Patriots fan, we're good! You'll LOVE Yellowstone and the Old Faithful Inn.

Hey Philly Jim & family. Erica and I enjoyed meeting you guys at Sol Duc and sharing our camping/traveling adventures with you. Sharing some suds with you at Astoria was also a great time. We wish you guys many more amazing adventures & we hope to see you again sometime on the road. Safe travels. Nevada Brian.

Can you share a little bit about your Colter Bay RV Park reservation process? I'm hoping to visit that campground next summer and I hear the spots disappear within minutes? Also, when it comes to attempting the reservation, do you have to try to select an individual site as opposed to just any that might be available? If you have to try a specific site, I fear that makes reservations even harder because what if you happen to pick one that a bunch of others are also going for? It all sounds so stressful haha
@takingyouwithme9194Ай бұрын
The spots for both Colter Bay and Headwaters disappear instantly. What we did was book the KOA outside the park almost a year in advance as a back-up. When Colter Bay and Headwaters opened up, we tried and failed to get a site, but put ourselves on the waiting list. Within days, I got an email saying one was available and immediately went on rec.gov and booked it. We were very lucky. My advice would be to try to book when it opens and, if you end up on the waiting list, set email notifications or check constantly so you don't miss it. I honestly don't remember if we tried to book a specific site at first, but the waiting list has your RV length and only sends you sites you'll fit in, so you just grab the one that comes up. Hope that helps!

Two Thumbs way up. Glacier is my Favorite National Park. Did the same route and a day behind you, was in Yellowstone for the 4th and then 10 days in St Marys. great hike choices, and the tunnel was my #1 and did Iceberg lake on my last day. I id the Highland the day it opened and Swiftcurrent pass ( and Overlook) is an awesome hike as well. I had my mini spikes and happy to use them on overlook trail. And you are correct about parking.I was astounded how easy it was. I think the weather this year was outstange as I am a tenter.

Oh, Jim will be so jealous you got to do the Highline Trail! There are so many great looking trails and we didn't even really get to spend much time on the west side. We will definitely be heading back some day. Thanks for watching!

We are thinking about staying at Fishing Bridge. In your opinion is Fishing Bridge a good location to see all the sites Yellowstone has to offer or would you change things up and stay somewhere else in the park?
@takingyouwithme9194Ай бұрын
It depends on a lot, so here are my quick thoughts. I'd say yes if: - you need hookups - you don't want to move locations throughout your stay. - you have a large rig (over 30 feet) - you don't want to wait at the park entrance to get in every morning. The other in-park campgrounds don't have hookups, and the sites are generally smaller. That being said, YSNP is so big that you still end up driving for hours. The only way to avoid that is to spend a night or two at a campground in each section. Also, FB is pricey ($100/night) and, while surrounded by woods, is just rows of campers on gravel pads. We didn't mind, but its not rustic. Plus, you only get two free showers daily, if you need them. Hope that helps!

10:00 Do I see Eagles gear? Like you guys already. Yellowstone is my favorite park to visit. I try to visit it as much as I can. I wish I did ranger hike when I was there. I was moving around too much in the morning to see the ranger programs.
@takingyouwithme91942 ай бұрын
Go Birds! Die-hard, unapologetic Eagles Fans. (Jim grew up 20 minutes from the stadium). We loved Yellowstone and loved the ranger hike. But, yeah, it's hard to fit them into our schedule. Wish we could've done more.

Go eagles! Did you guys book all your camp places in advance or why you were traveling?
@takingyouwithme91942 ай бұрын
Go Birds! We would have loved to just wing it but, since COVID, campsites are at a premium everywhere. We didn't want the stress of finding a spot every few days, so we booked in advance. It was a good thing, too, bc most places we've stayed have been full.

You guys look like yo had a blast! I went in the fall of 2023 for my school, and it was so fun. I recommend dressing up if you guys go again, it just adds to the experience and everyone does it. People are also really nice about costumes, I made a knight one for my school trip and got tons of compliments. I’m hoping to go again this fall for my birthday, this time as a werewolf knight since my birthday happens during one of the Halloween weekends. Did you guys try the turkey legs while you were there?

As with most state parks they weren't super level, but nothing difficult. They are nicely paved, which helps. There is also a nice distance between most sites.

That water front site looks amazing.been tent camping for over a decade on MDI. It's an amazing park.There are a ton of hiking paths near the wild gardens, you did the boardwalk , which is great in a light rain,.But go up hill to see some amazing path making and views. last year the parking was so bad I parked here to do the Cadillac MT up and down hike. The Mini Golf place is the best. Next time, walk/Bike the Rockefeller roads ( and the bridges).
