Love these videos. Keep them coming. Any chance you could do a comparison using the Eastman E10SS/V. I think the vanish one has a different tone. Maybe against a J-45 and even the E10SS you have here. The vanish might just unleash the beast a little more.

Slight edge to the Eastman, but the true star here is the KSM32. What a princess of a mic that is. Beats LDC mics twice its price, with ease.

Between these 2 SPECIFIC guitars, not brands, the Martin was better. Less boomy and more even and also.... more in tune. :)

The Gibson seems to "speak" more easily on fingerpicked melody lines, so that's what I'd go with.

Did you really take over 5 minutes to switch guitars in a side by side comparison. I have never seen that. Why didn’t you switch between the two?

Martin is for clarity and beauty of notes, Gibson for the musical compression they have for songwriting. They are very different sides of the acoustic world, and both are standards of their type.

I’ve owned and loved both brands. That Guild sounds much more resonant and balanced. it’s an exceptionally great sounding instrument.

I traveled to Japan and came back with a 2022 D18. I have not picked up my other guitars very much since. I got it for a god price of $1775. Mint. If any one is headed that way.

From here THAT Gibson sounds much better than THAT Eastman through THAT microphone over UTube through THESE headphones. In other words, please, dont anybody buy any acoustic instrument without hearing at least a dozen IN PERSON.

I have the E2D (cedar top) and it’s freaking great. Best playing guitar I own out of 6 guitars and best tone. Sounds like an expensive dread but it’s 600$!

Both of these guitars sound so similar. The Gibson probably has a slightly fuller sound but they both sound balanced and warm. The Martin has slightly more shimmer on the high end and to me sounds a little more country while the Gibby a little more folky. I prefer the unglossed neck, string spacing and scale on the Martin which would seal the deal for me.

I have an Eastman OM style guitar which I bought just a coupke of weeks ago when I popped into GAK music shop in Brighton UK. I hadn't intended to buy a guitar but the minute I played it I knew I had to have it. I've played loads of Martins and never really got on with them for some reason. I also have a Furch dreadnought which is brilliant and is comparable to a decent Martin or a Taylor. To my mind, the Eastman is brighter than the Martin, which I personally like.

The Standard. Was looking at guitar demos then the mighty 28 popped up and that sound was instantly making the others i just heard... somehow less! :) Amazing guitar design by Martin

When I was looking for a "professional" level guitar I looked long and hard at this one and at a Taylor 814ce. It was an agonizing choice since I really wanted both of them but this wasn't realistic. I finally decided on the Taylor because despite both guitars being awesome I only live 1.5 miles from the Taylor USA factory. That being said, I still want this guitar. Just waiting to win the lottery.

How do you adjust the treble and bass on the Gubson 45 w the vtc? Ie increase the bass, lessen the bass, increase the treble, lessen the teeble? There is only one knob for this and it doesn't seem to do very much one way or another, kinda disappointing for me on my new Gibson. Thanks.

Up until a few months ago, I worked at a music store that carried Gibson, Taylor, & Martins. In this pricepoint, the Gibson J-45 blows everything else out of the water. Just play one!! Cheers! 😎🎸👍

In my opinion the J45 wins all the way. No contest here. The Eastman is cheaper and I think it's a decent guitar for the money, but it sounds A LOT less refined. I have one E1ss so I now well.

Hi, I am thinking of purchasing a Taylor 117e Grand Pacific guitar with the torrified spruce top I have only heard it played on KZbin videos it does sound really nice and it looks good too but I want to make sure that I am making the right choice. I am not a beginner I have been playing guitar on and off since I was younger but with big gaps in between the years. I only started taking the guitar more seriously in the past few years so I'm really still at the intermediate stages even though I can play and sing a good number of songs. I have been playing a Fender CD 60 -SCE electro acoustic solid spruce top dreadnought for the past 3 years and I love the sound of it even though it is a low budget guitar I was using the standard d, darrio bronze strings on this guitar but I swapped them for the higher price Ernie Ball paradigm phosphor Bronze strings recently and It sounds pretty good I have looked after this guitar it's still in excellent condition hardly any wear on the frets. I'm giving it to my 20 year old daughter as she is just learning to play. I also own a Fender villager California series 12 string acoustic which I purchased a year ago and I love this guitar too I'm just really looking for a decent price Taylor six string dreadnought with something different to offer I love the sound of older vintage guitars and also the modern brighter sound I was hoping that the Taylor 117e would definitely deliver the tone that I'm looking for or something close even though it is not a vintage guitar. I am just a bit wary and want to make sure I don't really need a high end expensive Taylor I just want a nice sounding guitar that won't go above my budget. If the Taylor 117e can truly deliver even a bit of this vintage sound then that's fine can anyone advise me on this also enjoyed your video Thanks Andy , Glasgow 😍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
