Terry I notice when you look for your gold in the pan if any at times like most of us but I notice you do the swirling thing and shake the pan , your gold pieces are spread out in the cons , another better way is to just wash the water back and forth like water lapping on the shore this brings the cons away to the back of your pan and tap the top of the pan rapid motion this brings the gold pieces to the top rim in your pan , much easier to keep your gold separated from the cons. You will see a lot of gold prospectors who use a pan do this.👍

I would say the bucket sluice did it’s job mate , had you be in a better gold richer area your results would be better for sure , I’m impressed with your bucket sluice , you did very well , I like it.👍

it looks like a blue funnel taped to the large funnel. What is the function of the blue funnel? I plan to build one too. thanks for your great idea.
@terrybirkholz27943 ай бұрын
It just extends the funnel length closer to the bowl. Eliminates splashing etc

6:57 to 7:20 Shot is/was awesome! The slow motion was as well. Have you seen the concentrator cup in the Production model, it has a tapered section to a wider upper part of the cup, I have to think that the difference helps slow down the turning & helps let out the lights to keep the heavy particles. Nice idea with the pad, although I'm not sure it helps as the turning is closer to the spill. And I don't think that cut out is all that helpful either - playing with the distance between the funnel & the cup - I got to think makes a difference too.

Thanks for the comments. I HAVE added a few changes since the video. Added a lip to top of cup, among others.

Terry, you should put an extension tube on the funnel so it reaches slightly below the surface of the bowl. That'll keep the flour gold from floating out.
@danhodgins40159 ай бұрын
Good start, you can improve it even more. Try putting a piece of thin plywood underneath, or 2 pieces of 1 x 2 going cross wise. Check the angle on the top of the bucket with a level or angle finding app. Also, you could try cutting a 2 inch slot on the back end of the collection cup (and/or raising the lip at the front end of the collection cup. This directs water and material to the back of the bucket, forcing it to go around the collection dish like an inside bend, and climb the higher lip at the front of the bucket. Get rid of the circular side holes, and make your front bucket outlet a but higher to make the gold do more work to get out. In technical terms type of fluid bed is called elutriation. Do all of this with your existing system and I think your fine gold capture will go up. Again, it's a decent prototype, and with a few tweaks you can make it even better. Good stuff!

Hey thanks for all that Dan! I already did block the front bowl exit by using the bowl lid, trimmed to block the front exit. Gotta get out and use it more though....

Hello. Great video. You have stimulated my DIY interests. Question? What did you use for the white primary funnel. Thanks...........

Thats a good question. It was hard to find. It was larger than necessary and i had to mark it and cut it. Maybe a funnel for beer making??

Hello Terry Your Sluice Bucky is a very interesting idea, but when I'm by running water I prefer a sluice. But for lakes, the thing is very cool. I'd be happy to give you a BIG LIKE👍 and an ABO. Greetings from Germany from Golden Christian 🤠

On your bowl try and incorporate a lip for in helping with maintaining the gold in your catch bowl. Should help
@terrybirkholz2794 Жыл бұрын
What a great suggestion. Only thing I would have to watch for is that enough lighter material still exits. Maybe I could try just putting a lip on the front of the bowl at first. Any gold out the back would not make it out of the bucket

Been paying attention to this a little. The handwashing flow pace seems sufficient and moving any faster imagine would negate the process. The funnel seems to mitre well although there may be some improvisions available in that arena. Good stuff👍

My GRNB has at least a 90 to 98% capture rate. Really a great tool to do casual prospecting. Also a diffrent way of processing material.

Strongly suggest you acquire a clip-on mic that is Bluetooth and sends crisp audio to your camera, need a wind screen, some are furry for windy times. Great video and great concept of creating a vortex in the bowl from the constriction of the funnel, had a similar setup conventionalized but not a cutout on the bucket and my dish was located below a inverted lamp shade, with the sieve on to. Run the smallest 12V bilge with switch for water. Here is something to help find the heavies associated with the deposition of gold, bring some bright flagging tap to mark your spots. kzbin.info/www/bejne/nJeuZa14q62Yp5o

The early metal detectors where BFO which picked up increased concentration of iron, if you found the iron, you find the paystreak. I wonder if modern detectors set on iron will pick up the black sands?
