You’re right. Also, potato, potato. Tung oil is not considered a stain: Stain Changes the color of the wood to enhance its appearance. Stains also accentuate the wood grain. Tung oil Enhances the wood's natural color and texture, but doesn't change it. Tung oil is a natural finish that oxidizes, hardening into layers that protect the wood.

How can I get 240volt from this running the wire straight to a 20A 250volt outlet . Thanks

I am not sure on a good answer for you. I’d recommend consulting an electrician.
@Fit.For.A.Firefight.14 күн бұрын
The previous owner of my house used one of these to run power out to my shed and then to the barn but the wire between the shed and barn was cut. Power went out to both. I stripped and fused the broken wires together and replaced the fuse, but the power to the shed and barn still aren’t working. None of the breakers in the house were tripped. What am I missing?
@Stuffandthingstoknow11 күн бұрын
Are we sure the fuse panel had power? Sounds like a good time to call an electrician yo help you out.

I’m an electrician looking to add home inspections onto my resume. I don’t like dealing with people but I feel like it won’t be too big of a problem. It’s not my fault they are trying to sell a house that is clearly in need of work. I’d love for them to blame me!
@Stuffandthingstoknow5 күн бұрын
Sounds like you have plenty of technical qualifications. I would say being a home inspector (who actually gets jobs) is an intensely “people” business. Probably better ways for you to generate income IMHO.

What about a house that has ridge vents…thinking of adding solar fans to draw humid/hot air (Houston area) out. One roofer says to seal the ridge vents and two say it doesn’t matter as long as we place them correctly. Thoughts?
@Stuffandthingstoknow20 күн бұрын
It’s a little hard for me to visualize what you’re describing. Typically you wants vents as low as possible and vents as high in the roof line as possible to be effective for passive ventilation. Once you start pressurizing or depressurizing a space it gets a bit more complicated… I’d be hesitant to seal off the ridge vents personally.
@Stuffandthingstoknow20 күн бұрын
The ratio I’ve heard passed around is to try and have about 60% of your venting down low and about 40% of your venting at the high point. Gable vents and fans can potentially mess up the natural convection process…

So what if basically everything in my house is connected to the gfci
@Stuffandthingstoknow27 күн бұрын
That would be a little odd… normally you shouldn’t have more than 8, sometimes 10 receptacles on a circuit… if you’re having repeated issues it is a good idea to consult a local electrician.

Most the older ones I am aware of you have to do with a cable. I’d be looking at hooking a cord up from the camera to a computer to download the photos then you could save those photos to a hard drive or send them to your phone from there? That is assuming the old camera doesn’t have Bluetooth

Can you come back and rip a 1/8”gap down each board in a composite deck
@Stuffandthingstoknow3 ай бұрын
Not having done that specifically myself, I would say you could BUT it would be labor intensive AND I would recommend making a jig to ensure straight lines AND be sure not to cut too deep as to knick the framing joists AND you’d probably have to sand or router the edges because square edges would look dumb…. Probably not worth the labor / risk to cut in place.

You changed the fuse like he's showing here? Or you changed another different one? If these ones are blown, you will not get power.
