How to Identify a Hybrid Water Heater

This video points out some of the clues to look for on a water heater to determine if it is a hybrid water heater at first glance. Because these are still relatively new systems in 2022 many people are unfamiliar with them.
Because they are supposed to be more energy efficient, we will continue to see more and more of them.
Some clues that you're looking at a Hybrid Water Heater:
- Multiple drain lines (Temperature Pressure Relief Valve Drain and Condensate Drain
- Any signs of a fan built into the water heater
- A filter (typically found on the top)
- Duct work (This is less common but the unit in this video had black flexible duct work installed to exhaust the cold air produced by the unit to the exterior)
- When visible you can typically read "HYBRID WATER HEATER" on the data label.
