I see you are posting much scriabin recently, falling down the scriabin rabbit hole? haha. Very difficult these sonatas are, i am impressed, currently learning 5 as well

Well, it was this year's big project to do an album recording of all these works, but this was the last so I'm now heading on to new things. Climbing out of the hole haha!

Wow - I think that was by far the worst reproduction of the piece I ever heard! Only a pure midi arrangement sounds worse.

Hit the play button knowing I'm not a huge fan of this particular Scriabin style but was surprised in a good way. Found it almost impressionistic perhaps? Anyway, excellent playing!

Thanks! Yes, he's definitely experimenting with textures in different directions in this one...

Clean and transparent playing-well recorded also. Still-a little constrained feeling overall. Doesn’t (yet) breathe and flow as freely as it can. But I always enjoy hearing this piece. Had the privilege of hearing Horowitz live playing it. Unforgettable!

you are so lucky to have heard him play this piece live. His interpretation far surpasses any other, the tones he gets are out of this world, as well as the attention to the middle voices he brings out, they are just so lyrical aaaaghhhhh

Fantastic arrangement, brilliantly performed! I see that you have actually improved on some of the harmony used in the original recording, which is a bit naïve and "childlike" in parts (although it could be argued that it is supposed to be). Also, if you listen on headphones to the original, there is a G in the bass on the last chord - it's just very quiet!

Really brings out a highly sonorous, lyrical, unrushed and Brahmsian flavor that I am sure Rach himself would greatly appreciate. Definitely an elegant and memorable approach! Super suave.

Hello, this may sound like a silly question, but how long have you been playing the piano? I'd love to make this sound but I'm still a beginner. Thank you for your answer and for reproducing this incredible sound.

It'd be awesome if you arranged Idol by Yoasobi. It's J-pop but has the potential to sound amazing as a virtuosic classical piece.

Thanks! Yeah, I think I will do an analysis video on this later this year, but not necessarily on this arrangement, rather something easier for that.

Imagine a Strauss waltz with Debussy writing the chords. Its in G minor but with the occasional picardy cadence into G major.
@HKilhamn5 ай бұрын
So... I'm not really an anime fan myself but I got to know this composition when I had a student who wanted to play it, and I completely understand its appeal because it's a gorgeous waltz that works very well as a piano solo piece of the 21th century. I wanted to play it myself so I looked around at various arrangements and found this one by Animenz which turns it into a proper virtuosic concert piece, with textures that are incredibly rich and sparkling but also very demanding. I spent around 4 weeks learning it but it would have felt even more comfortable in the hands if I had given it some more time (I squeezed it in between other recording sessions this semester). But I figured I'd upload this anyway! You can find the original Animenz version through the link in the description; he plays it extremely well but we also differ slightly in our interpretative choices, as all pianists do.
