Interesting video. These tools are only in the paid version of Logos? (Grammatically speaking, "set" is the only verb. "To study”, "to practice" and "to teach" are all infinitive phrases.) ❤

That is a list of the notebooks. If you need to know how to make a notebook, I searched it on Google and a tutorial is on the Logos website.

Good information about nTSK among off-topic rabbit trails - Logos layouts, diagramming, systematic theology. The nTSK stuff starts at 17:06 and gets into details at 26:39. I would have liked to see an example of the "+" symbol.

Thank you for taking the time to post so much valuable info and knowledge about sermon prep and everything that goes into it. I appreciate that you give a more practical approach for us wanting to fulfill our calling to preach the word. Thank you!!

I am sorry, but this was not very helpful at all. I want to specifically know how to use and benefit from using TSK. In all fairness I didn’t watch the whole video. As soon as you started explaining LOGOS I Fwd but could not find your detailed explanation on TSK. It’s misleading to head the video as though you are going to explain TSK but then basically sell LOGOS …. ? So frustrating…..you started off so well……sorry if I completely missed the boat 🙈

Hey, is there a reason why you use word to draft your sermon and then import into logos?
@DrJackHughes6 ай бұрын
I use Word and write my sermons on a custom page size that fits my iPad screen. When the sermon is finished I save it to PDF. Then upload it to my iPad using PDF Expert. In the video the reason it looks different is I use "focus" mode in Word (bottom of the screen in Word). It is cleaner and I like to work in focus mode. GALATIANS (Galatians 3:13) Christ hath (redeemed) "US" (from) the "CURSE of the LAW" being made a CURSE for "US" (Deuteronomy 28:15) But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt NOT hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to DO all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that (all) these "CURSES" shall come upon thee, and overtake thee (👆the curse of the law applies to ethnic Israel only) (Daniel 9:11) Yea, "ALL ISRAEL" have transgressed thy LAW, even by departing, that they might NOT OBEY thy voice; (therefore) the "CURSE" is poured upon "US" and the (oath) that is (written) in the LAW of Moses the servant of God, because "WE" have SINNED against him (👆only ethnic Israel was cursed) (Psalm 147:19-20) He sheweth his WORD(bible) unto Jacob, his statutes and his judgments unto ISRAEL he hath NOT dealt so with ANY NATION: and as for his judgments, THEY have NOT known them. Praise ye the LORD. (👆only ethnic Israel was given the law) (Amos 3:1-2) Hear this word that the LORD hath spoken (against) "YOU" O children of ISRAEL against the (whole family) which I brought up from the land of Egypt, (saying) "YOU ONLY" HAVE I KNOWN of all the families of the earth therefore I will punish YOU for all (your iniquities) (👆 only ethnic Israel) (Galatians 4:4-5) God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the LAW to REDEEM "THEM" that were under the law, that "WE" might receive the "ADOPTION" of SONS (👆the Galatians Paul preached and wrote too were ethnic Israelites)

Thanks for the insights! How do you determine the correct definition to be used "In Context" of a specific verse when the word has multiple definitions and usages?
@DrJackHughes8 ай бұрын
Lexicons and theological dictionaries give you "the range of possible meanings" but the near context of the text you are studying determines the meaning of a word.

Hey Pastor Jack, I have a question. I have watched dozens of videos on notes, and no one has covered my question. At the bottom of the notes panel you can add tags, which I always do. To the immediate right at the bottom is a dark button with the + sign. I have played with that and cannot figure out its function and purpose. Would you know? Thanks!
@DrJackHughes8 ай бұрын
I don't use the tag feature and that little plus sign seems to be a label of the "category" that you want to add to the tags or note. Sorry. Not familiar with that feature.

@DrJackHughes10 ай бұрын
No, but I want to make a visual filter video showing how to mark up the Hebrew and Greek text so that all the verbs are red, commands on fire, the nouns blue, and adjectives. Unless you are referring to how I make my text flow diagrams and in that way I kind of do the same. I have four videos on text flow diagrams in Logos.

Thank you for sharing. I'm not sure if it's possible, but I would really like to see your Library Priority List. Bibles, Lexicons, Commentaries...
@DrJackHughes10 ай бұрын
I might be able to do that to some degree. When I am going to study a book, I get the best commentaries on that book. Some are found in series, others are stand alone. So depending on the book I am preaching through, the list would change, but I do have favorite resources for Word studies, and in the video I show you what I actually use. I often go from less technical resources to more technical, except when using commentaries. I always start with critical commentaries, then go to expositional commentaries, then I might finish up with some devotional commentaries.
@DrJackHughes8 ай бұрын
My library priority list changes, depending on what I am studying. So if I am studying Revelation, I have all the best commentaries that take a literal, grammatical, historical approach up front, but when I switch to study I Corinthians, I have a different priority list. It often takes time and trial and error to discover what commentaries are best.
