Awesome tutorial! Thanks for all the information. :) I'm tryring to make a logo on a box with thicker lines. The logo layer (on top side of the box) is 1mm thick and its part of the model, so I made a support blocker that covers only the logo but not the side of the box underneath. For this support blocker I set "Modify settings for overlaps" and via "select" button I added "horizontal expansion" and set that to 0.4. But when I slice the model, the logo is still without any changes. When I change the "horizontal expansion" for the whole model (standard way, not via "per model settings"), the logo gets thicker how I need it. In the basic form this logo contains some thin walls, so I need to have them a bit thicker, so they don't break off that easily and they will be better printed.

9-10 years later, thank you! Also, that little bit at the end where you explain how to put the fan and heatsink together. A lot of people would be hyper fixated on the original idea and not mention that! Awesome!

Wish there was more online about the xl. Just like he talked about, i am torn between the S7 and the method XL. We want to build up prototypes in a wide array of materials, but also want the precision and reliability and final product quality. That talk of set profiles to just run the abs cf out of the no hassle just slice and go makes me want the method. 😅 Theres pros and cons to each and neither meets all our needs. If i could afford both i would, but im not sure it makes sense when one could probably do the job till i could afford another. Im really leaning toward the s7 and getting the xl in another iteration or two when it's had time to mature.

What settings did you use for the aquasys? I set it up per instructions on the label and website, and cannot get it to extrude nicely and keep getting clog issues.

I used 240C for the Aquasys GP. Have you cleaned your nozzle to make sure there wasn't some previous material in there creating a blockage? You're welcome to email us at [email protected] so we can troubleshoot further.

Not at this time. There is an optional Filament Humidor Cabinet that maintains the humidity of materials, but it doesn't provide automatic material handling. shop3duniverse.com/collections/flashforge-products/products/flashforge-filament-dry-station

Yeah, this product is not intended for a typical hobbyist. It's geared more towards commercial organizations that rely on 3D printing for prototyping and production. A more common solution for hobbyists would be something like the PrintDry Pro3, which you can find here: shop3duniverse.com/collections/accessories-filament-drying/products/printdry-filament-dryer-pro3

How you think this scanner will work for large objects like car parts?
@3duniverseOrgWelcomesYou
@3duniverseOrgWelcomesYou Жыл бұрын
I scanned a fairly large object for a customer (a model spaceship about 30 inches long) and it worked well. The manufacturer says the following: Work distance: 150-400mm. Single capture range: 200x100mm. Typical object sizes: 15-1500mm.

Hello, I wanted to know what the average consumption of the UltiMaker 2+ Connect is, thank you.
@3duniverseOrgWelcomesYou
@3duniverseOrgWelcomesYou Жыл бұрын
Are you asking about electrical consumption? This varies extensively based on the how the printer is being used. The max power consumption is 221W, which would only be when the print bed and extruder are both being heated.

Cool video. Would be nice to see some more prints or compare the print quality to other printers. This printer is a good 5,000+ more than the average 3D printer.

How is this different than a cheap Chinese dental vacuum former/molder? You know, at the basic level......
@3duniverseOrgWelcomesYou
@3duniverseOrgWelcomesYou Жыл бұрын
There are lots of differences, but the primary difference is that this isn't a vacuum former. It's a pressure former. It allows you to capture much better detail and work with a much wider range of materials than a cheap vacuum former.

What's the size of the screws you used? minute 18:00
@3duniverseOrgWelcomesYou
@3duniverseOrgWelcomesYou Жыл бұрын
The size of the screws depends on the scale of the device being made. You need to use whatever size screw fits tightly (the screws should be large enough to bite into the plastic a little). Our kits include 3 sizes of tensioner screws: Pan head Phillips sheet metal screws #4 x 3/4”, Pan head Phillips sheet metal screws #6 x 1”, and Pan head Phillips sheet metal screws #8 x 1 ¼”. You can find the full details in the package contents tab here: shop3duniverse.com/collections/project-kits/products/phoenix-hand-by-e-nable-assembly-materials-kit
