I love how this team and other euro teams show so much respect to their fans. Just wow. You rarely see this in North America … especially any Pro league. It’s quite pathetic actually. They take fans for granted over here.

It may sound weird, but I hope my kid someday, if they ever get to that talent level, hope to not go to the NHL and strive to play overseas. Europe is amazing and the life experience of experiencing new cultures is unlike no other. Cheers for your great content as always!
@RobertGreeley3 күн бұрын
Thanks for the kind words! It’s a great life experience for sure, I mean one common trend I have when I talk with these guys after they make the decision of going to play in Europe is they all mention how it brings them a new found love for the game again! Which I think is all you can really ask when you’re going through the seasons, is that you love what you’re doing!

Love your videos, thanks for the great insights! Just one quick fact, the club itself was founded in 1863, as a sports and athletics club, but they actually only started playing hockey in 1951/1952. There are a lot of hockey clubs in Germany that started playing hockey way earlier. Cheers

Thanks so much for this, where did you find this info? Just want to read more on it!

You could check out de.wikipedia.org/wiki/TSV_Schongau or de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eishockey_in_Deutschland Unfortunately there‘s no English version or just a very abridged one. Google translator etc. might help more with that.

Founded in 1863, TSV Schongau (TSV = Turn- und Sportverein = Gymnastics and Sports Club) is, like most German sports clubs, a multi-sport club. In the early days, gymnastics was the main activity. Today, active members are also offered soccer, badminton, swimming and a few other sports. The ice hockey section, now known as the Schongau Mammuts, was founded in 1951. So this is by no means the oldest ice hockey club in Germany - not even close. And I think you know that too. Too bad, the video would actually be interesting enough, so there's no need for such annoying click-bait.
@RobertGreeley13 күн бұрын
Honestly, I didn’t! Thanks for the info, when you look at the list for all the hockey teams in the league online it says it was found 1863, which is a later date than anything else listed for the DEL, DEL2, etc! Where did you find all this, would love to read more, thanks again!
