What is the bolt for? Is there similar to the opposite side of the engine? Also might be oil pump gasket, which is another common problem with the J series engine.

I'm pretty sure that bolt is for the crank girdle. They are all along the block. That one I believe goes into an oil galley, which is why I always see them leak from that one particular bolt.

@D0u61a5Күн бұрын
@@jaschalindesmith9525 When you say "Tighten as tight as humanly possible by hand and done" are you saying only hand tight, or are you saying tighten as hard as you can with wrench/breaker bar? I ask because I am unsure if you are trying to leave a space for the rtv,,,,

When you go to take it loose you will see how tight it is making it a bit difficult. Just make sure it's as tight when you're done. To clarify as tight as you can without power tools or a huge breaker bar.

Remember to go in the "brain" and tell you put in a new battery true the OBD port. On New German cars it should have a device connected before you disconnect the battery. New German car have generator that learn the battery. Old battery discharge and charge different than a new. So when you put in a new battery the generator still think it have an old battery. I learn this the hard way and needed to bye new generator and battery ager 4 months I put in a new battery. New car is more a computer
@jaschalindesmith952527 күн бұрын
@christoffer1973 this one has an auxiliary battery to keep modules alive. Yes the battery has to be reset in the pcm so the alternator doesn't think it's charging an old battery. 👌

The corrosion of aluminum is a constant problem for owners of aluminum wheels. If you could find a way to slow down or eliminate the corrosion that holds the wheel onto the brake rotor or hub, you could make a lot of money. When I was at Alcoa they were working on the problem, but to my knowledge, they have not solved it.
@jeffp6615Ай бұрын
Use 2 bolts opposite of each other, by doing it that way you run the risk of enlarging the hole so the new bearing assembly can move and wear out the knuckle. I've seen it a few times.
