Your video says why you quit Hotshot but you never said why? Reason I'm asking is because I'm starting a business up and I try to avoid the negative comments but sometimes you just can't... I just want to know why? Do you live North South East or West in the US. I live in the East. I'm wondering if I need to move to another location and if so what do you recommend. I hope everything goes great for you and your family... BEST WISHES AND BEST OF LUCK TO YA MAN..❤❤

Probably went broke with the rates out here , most of these Hotshots are dying out, brokers are really sticking it to them. Which I don't get , they're running the haulers they need into starving out, then they won't have anyone to haul their freight. So keep sticking it to yourselves brokers.

Mr Austin speaks the truth, the haters are people who work for places like rig runners or butches making 200 per load and getting 1-2 loads a day they’re mad they are getting paid the bare minimum for the exact same work, my father and I worked hotshot (not gonna say the company name because it’s a family business) and some jobs would pay us 7k for one load, I’m talking Texas to Pennsylvania as quick as humanly possible, they pay for the speed and we delivered. Hot shots can make a lot of money if working for the right people or they can be used by the wrong people and make little to nothing.

so if you choose find your own freight (I am assuming you would do that on the freight boards online), is there ever a problem with getting paid once you haul the load? I am assuming sooner or later someone will not have the money to pay you.....or only have part of the money they agreed to pay you. giving a freight broker 20 percent seems kind of high. as everything is done online now. 30 years ago you probably had to have a freight broker or really do some work to find some loads to haul.

I am thinking about this as a second career, I have been a Laser operator in manufacturing for the last 20 yrs. I grew up in the trucking industry with my Father. I think its something I can do. what would you say to someone who hasnt been a driver and wants to get into this.

I just looked into this not because I want to do it but out of curiosity, an 18 wheeler driver makes at best 60k a year. I don’t know how much different it is when you owe the truck, but obviously you can only do smaller loads. He must be doing shorter trips and not taking any time off. Plus account for all the expenses... good for him .
