the show it self in not racist. the general lee is definitely not racist. the confederate flag is the reason that people think that the show is racist but the flag it self is not racist. its the flag of a union that is not longer a thing. its also the flag used for southern heritage. but in the show its use if for a ''southern stereotype'' as the show is set in the southern state of Georgia. the confederate flag itself should only be used for southern heritage and not used as what it stood for in the 1800's during the civil war.

I own the whole series and my kids love it too now. So many great memories come flooding back. Let's keep this alive! I just found this video. I lived in Jonesboro, Ga, during the 70s and 80s. At the time of filming I was about 7 years old. I was actually watching them film the scene when Burt Reynoldstown pulled up at the old White House in Jonesboro to pick up Jerry Reed. I was also in downtown Jonesboro when they pulled up to pick up the Coors beer. They had the crowd on the other side of Main Street separated by the railroad tracks. I now live in McDonough, Ga, where Jerry Reed pulled in to the truck stop and gets into a brawl. I pass that place everyday. Lots of other places in Jonesboro where they filmed. They also filmed at the A&P grocery store a chase scene. They also filmed the chase scene where the guy fishing is startled and jumps in the pond off Maundy’s Mill Road in Jonesboro.

Ole son if did this jump because of this show. In Hahira Ga, there is a steep incline on a side street at a railroad crossing. I was 16 years old, in a 1974 ford Ltd 2 door. I hit those tracks doing 90mph. How I survived, only God knows. I survived, the car survived.

No it's not, most people use the Confederate Battle Ensign or Naval Standard to symbolize rebellion rather than out of hate, those that use it otherwise either in order to pay respects to their ancestors, with only a very small portion of the population actually having hate, even the KKK which is a white power group actually has more respect for blacks than blacks have for themselves for whatever reason (the Black Panthers are a black power group which actually has hate involved), I knew of the KKK because they had a truce area where I live that was a black owned grocery store which had the best prices in the area (a truce area was where if the KKK saw those that they didn't like, they couldn't chase after them unless they saw them elsewhere). BLM is racist as fuk and only complains about People dying where either it was drugs that caused their death (George Floyd says hello), their heart, or their actions (the one guy actually kept putting his hands in his car after being repeatedly told not to and to tell the cop where whatever the item was was located) that caused their death, if you want to know the number one killer of blacks that isn't health related is other blacks usually during illicit activity (robbery, drug deal and other things that are illegal), yet you'll never hear BLM trying to at least help young black people so they don't become career criminals.
