I know that the first jump of the General Lee in the opening credits is the first but what about the jump in the opening scene? 5:06

@ChunkeyMonkey40 nice man! Very small world lol. Once I get my one General out of the garage, maybe you could come back and take it for a spin. We took out the regular 383 that was in it and replaced it with a hell cat engine from a dodge hellcat minivan lol, has up to 757hp

you forgot to mention, right after the Dukes of Hazzard, John Schneider and Tom Wopat starred together in a Christmas movie called Christmas comes to Willow Creek.

Actually, it's mentioned in the script for the video but not until I believe 2005, when John & Tom reunited on Smallville. This was initially intended to be a 50 minute documentary, but i had to split it in half in order to make the release date so some stuff that wasn't included in this video will be included in the next one

This show is one of the fondest memories I have of when I was a kid. It's hard to explain to the younger generations how big this show was back then and still is. We only had about 3 or 4 networks to watch, and that was your entertainment on tv, other than what you did yourself for entertainment. No computer or smartphones, just tv. Friday night was something special back then. Incredible Hulk at 8pm, Dukes of Hazzard at 9pm and Dallas at 10pm. The show had something for everyone. The ladies liked John and Tom, the guys liked Daisy, family values, respecting each other, slap stick humor, the good guys fighting for what is right and helping your neighbor. Tv shows today just do not compare. Anyone, at any age could watch the Dukes and enjoy it.

It really is, hopefully videos like this help give the younger folks a perspective on how big Dukes really was back in the day. I grew up on the CMT reruns and fell in love with the show at a very young age, l believe i was like 4 when i first started watching

Dude, this is so correct, January 26, 1979 was a Friday night on CBS 10, That show came on!!! Damn, I loved it instantly!!! In October of '78 I do remember filming of the 2nd episode of Dukes of Hazzard, which was Daisy's Song, I was in Atlanta, Georgia, I remember Boss Hoggs Cadillac sliding around the corner!!! Mopar Nate, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

I'm still watching the re-runs to this day, just did couple nights ago. Always takes me back to a simpler time in life where things were simple in life. Watching the simplicity of life on the show as in the settings, no technology driven scripts, just basic country living. Uncle Jessie's farm is a warm down home feeling today as it reminds me of my uncles farm from years past.....and maybe a lot of folks my age feels the same. Watching the show today is like a big warm hug from our past.

Damn you made me feel old, hard to believe its been 45 yrs since I was in the 1st episode! Grew up in Covington since moving there in 1973 as an 8 yr old! I can still remember being on the square with my dad the day I seen the General Lee slide onto the square in the 1st chase scene {went by fast but thats us in front of the store at 8:41} & getting to meet the cast & Daisy actually built a house just a few miles down the country road we lived on & lived there for a few years! I also went to the 25th anniversary reunion at the Covington Fairgrounds where they recreated the General jump for the 1st time & is now a staple at every Dukesfest ✌💖☮

They were basically current age deep South Robin Hood. How would that possibly have failed? Because they were REFORMED moonshine runners, it appealed to most ALL of the South and had they been current moonshine runners, a lot of the Bible belt wouldn't have approved of their kids watching and glorifying the law breaking. But they did good for their small town and that's why it was acceptable and embraced. Many were used to seeing the Confederate flag nearly everywhere back then so it wasn't **AS** shocking to see as it is now that the Internet exists and people who never saw it before and now associate it with racism. I was ones of those kids, growing up in suburbia of Michigan. I had no clue what that the strange flag was or what their horn played. I did have a Shrinky Dink set of the show and remember giving Cletus to a boy I had a huge crush on. I still regret giving that away, as he turned out to be a jerk. Ooooh Cletus guh guh guh guh! 😂

WOW CHUNK..what AMAZING dedication to this property, 45 yrs my word, i was but a kid watching a fuzzy CBS station , only cuz of a old fashioned TV Antena we had on our trailer, but to think NOW in the climate we live in would give so much undo negative focus is beyond me, i think deep down we will always have this show around in some form or other for years to come no matter the posture given by these crazy movements trying to cancel it, and let me tell you they haven't, and in my opinion it hasn't shown any sign of slowing down one bit thanks to social media and every ones positive stance and protection of the show, can't wait for the rest of this wonderful testament to a great show, kinda like those classic long running westerns two of which were "GUNSMOKE", and "BONANZA", a "WESTERN on WHEELS" lets say..loling!!

Wow! That was neat to watch. Thanks for the blast to my past. I watched the Dukes of Hazard while growing up as a teen. I never missed an episode. Hard to say what I intrigued me most Daisy Duke or the General Lee, but it was by far my favorite TV program of all time.

Looks like the car Bo was driving in the reunion movie was an Acura NSX not a Mitsubishi 3000.

I'll have to admit that Catherine got my hormones raging back when the show was on. She truly was some eye candy for young men. 😍🥵🔥

Idk if you'll have this in pt 2, but John Schneider was in felicity, an American girl movie. Tom also starred on Broadway in annie get your gun, and catch me if you can. There was another show he was in but I can't recall the title of it. Wopat also starred in a couple movies one of which was county line.

Every friday night the neighborhood guys would gather to watch this with our matchbox cars ready roar! Growing up in a rural area we are still friends 50 years later and those nights are still talked about. Heck I still have my metal Dukes lunchbox

preaching to the choir brother it was hands-down the best TV show of all time the only other show I think that came close and that was not even that close was the A-Team and the Dukes just ran circles around that show he only lives a couple miles from me I’ve run into him on an occasion. Just a passerby happen to be in the same store unlike most, though I’ve never approached him outside of his own functions. I believe the man should be left alone and have his own privacy specially, here this past year it’s nice to see somebody else’s keep them alive tradition of the Dukes. i’ve got a collections of every show of the Dukes of Hazzard into my knowledge. Every show that was ever put on TV or video cassette or CD of john I especially liked John’s reunion tapes. I hadn’t seen many of the actors in years the last time I seen Enos and Roscoe was in pigeon Forge Tennessee. just good ol boys
