Wir hatten auch so einen, als meine Eltern 1963 vom VW Käfer auf so einen neuen Rekord umgestiegen waren. Weiss mit schwarz lackiertem Dach, viele sehr schöne Kindheitserlebnisse....Tolle Erinnerungen, viele Emotionen voller Melancholie.....Urlaube im Süden, Wochenendtrips nach "Westdeutschland", Verwandtschaftsbesuche in Dänemark, dann die vielen Abenteuerfahrten auf der Transitautobahn von und nach Berlin durch die DDR, teilweise durch politisch bedingte kilometerlange Staus.... Goldene Wirtschaftswunderzeit eben, das können sich heutzutage jüngere Generationen kaum mehr vorstellen. Der Opel war in der Kindheit der Babyboomer immer zuverlässig dabei. Als mein Vater dann 1969 auf einen gebrauchten gelben Ford 17 M Turnier umstieg und unser Opel um die Ecke abholbereit für den Käufer bereit stand, rollten mir die Tränen, als ich um die Ecke sah....Zu dieser legendären Epoche passt auch wunderbar "51er Kapitän" von Reinhard Mey. Toll. 👍😃

It is a general misunderstanding that the vehicles back then with a 6-volts-system had been such weak even when they were new. The electrical system of the shown vehicle is faulty and therefore in need of repair. Often the voltage drop is too high.

No it doesn't. I use now 10W-40 or 15W40 But 20W50 is easily available with zinc additives and it is fairly cheap. And this car is never driven in the winter.

Do naprawy i przejrzenia cała instalacja elektryczna czyli wszystkie kable od prądnicy do akumulatora do rozrusznika, oraz wszystkie połączenia minusa czyli masy do silnika do nadwozia do akumulatora wszystko trzeba pomierzyć miernikiem elektrycznym wszystko dokładnie oczyścić i będzie zapalał znacznie lepiej

Volga has almost 800cc more than Opel. But yeah, Opel is quite sluggish, Lada 1200 can kick its ass any day.

Thanks a lot for you answer in advance :) Took a while to get going, with that 20W oil it's probably a good simulation of what people went through back in the day, now imagine -35 or less in Siberia or North Europe =)
