I was only 11 when this came out but soon after visited your amazing museum. Only later did I realize what McLean was singing. How lucky are those who were there to hear McLean honor Van Gogh.

David is right. Van Gogh admitted he felt older and meaner, but got his revenge with the joy he experienced when he created his paintings and drawings. What a legacy he left us.
