I was born in 1958, I've watched George Reeves episodes thousand's of times (no exaggeration). His portrayal holds a special place in my heart. But it's because of him that I became a "Superman" fan, which gave me precious performances to love thereafter such as Christopher Reeve, Dean Cain, Tom Welling, Brandon Roth, Henry Cavill, Tyler Hoechlin, and Kirk Alyn (before him). There's always one common denominator: the author who writes the stories for the radio, comic books, animation and live action performances upon which every incarnation of Superman rests. It's that simple. I'm looking forward to and hoping the best for James Gunn's story. I know from past experience that there will be a few jarring differences for me to absorb and finally integrate into my fandom for Superman.... I encourage all Superman fans to do the same. And, by all means, check out George Reeves too. You'll see some of the early building blocks that produced the Super-men we all know and love today.

Another commentor gave us a link to the George Reeves episodes. We'll be checking them out. We are hopeful for the Gunn version of Superman, just not a fan of this trailer. Either way, it's Superman... we're going to see it in theaters no matter what.

Wow…I totally disagree. I think James Gunn nailed it with this teaser trailer, which exudes hope. There is a reason this is by far the most viewed movie trailer in DC/WB history. There is almost no dialog besides the Krypto scene and the child and protestors. IMO this is a perfect teaser, which is an introduction to James Gunn’s DC universe that begins with Superman. We’ll get more about the story in the next trailer. I hope you like that one more…

Its not encroaching on Reeves’s legacy. Technically it was called Superman the Movie. There has never been a Superman movie where the title was simply, Superman. I know, semantics. But that's the facts .
@foreverfangirlsreviewsАй бұрын
We edited our conversation about the title, but you're right - that's the fact. It is interesting that most films have alternate titles, like Superman Returns, Man of Steele etc... if the film does well and has a good story - the title won't matter. That's all we want. We fans need a good Superman film.
@cwell510Ай бұрын
Superman: The Movie was the first film I remember my father taking me to see in theaters when I was 4 years old. I still remember the opening to this day. Christopher Reeve was my childhood MoS although I enjoyed Henry Cavill's iteration. That said, Hollywood will do what they always do and repurpose movie titles to pay homage and to cater to a nostalgic fans like myself so I don't mind JG using the title Superman for his film. It doesn't change what came before and if this new movie is mediocre, I will always have the original.
@foreverfangirlsreviewsАй бұрын
Very true. How do you feel about the suit? Sheila likes the Reeve version, but I'm partial to the Cavill version. I'm not fond of Gunn's version, but I get the new film - new design idea. Hoping the new Superman isn't a letdown. We fans deserve a good DC film. - K
@cwell510Ай бұрын
@@foreverfangirlsreviews I'm not a fan of the suit either, I don't like the collar and the texture of the suit looks baggy and not form fitting like it should in my opinion. I understand that JG is a fan of the All-Star Superman and Kingdom Come stories and wanted to incorporate versions of that outfit along with the New 52, but it to me it looks like a Party City costume. For me, a cross between the Richard Donner and Zack Snyder versions would have been much better...
@foreverfangirlsreviewsАй бұрын
That would be a good blend for an outfit. But we completely agree it needed to be form fitting. Maybe there's a possibility it looks better during the film... hopefully.

The worst thing about this reaction was the SF whiners logo. 😜GO Rams!🐏 To Sheila, I'm surprised y didn't react nostalgically with the revamped original score. I've seen many older men tear up listening to it. To Kimberly, Krypto was put in & inspired by Gunn's own adopted, feral dog Ozu and his growing pains training her. So supposedly Krypto will be just like her, except with super powers. I wish yll would have articulated more on what y wanted out of the teaser.
@foreverfangirlsreviewsАй бұрын
We trimmed the score discussion for time as I liked the new version (it reminded me of the Wonder Woman reimagining). Sheila's waiting to hear the full theme before commenting LOL. I was unaware of Gunn's inspiration for Krypto but am rather excited to see the pup on screen. As for what I wanted... overall it felt like too much and too little all at once. I think the best teaser would have been Superman on the ground in the beginning, whistling... the theme... Krypto... and cut. That would have made me want more. It felt like a mash of images with no connection - like dailies chopped up to show everyone involved without cohesion. Again, not bashing the final product. Keeping an open mind and am hoping the film does well. DC succeeding is great for all of us fans. - K

8:00 They actually wanted to do Thelma & Louise together but the plans fell through. 10:15 The original version of the movie was actually 2hrs. The last two scenes are reshoots (shot only a week before the NY premiere!). Basically a half hour of the original cut is gone. Ernest originally had a girlfriend who works at a bar, Toni played by Tracey Ullman. Ernest goes there practically everyday to escape Madeline. There is also a drunk who just sits there with his head on the counter. This comatose man became Ernest's savior in the third act. When Ernest falls into the pool the potion vial was still INTACT. He escapes with it and drives to Toni and she plans to expose the cult by bringing the vial to The Times but they need an escape plan for Ernest as well. 'Die and be reborn' was kind of the theme. The drunk comatose dude sees the potion, points his finger up as if he has a great idea and then suddenly drops dead on the counter (his toupee flies off) (This is in the trailer!). Since the dead drunk doesn't have anyone in his life Toni & Ernest decide "He would have wanted it this way!" to dress him in Ernest's clothes to fool Mad & Hel. When the ladies arrive outside the bar they are informed by Toni who is fake crying (this is in the trailer as well!) that Ernest has died. Madeline wants the potionvial so she decides to lift the sheet and 'identify Ernest'. Ernest who is hiding in an alley sees this and throws the potionvial in kind of a magical arc over the heads of everyone and Toni catches it. She asks them if that is what they're looking for and Helen rips it out of her unwilling hand. Madeline drops the sheet just in time so she won't recognize that it's not Ernest. The cop tells her she will have to identify him officially at the morgue anyway and she swallows "THE MORGUE? I'll just send someone!". The women realise they are stuck together now and take off. Ernest watches them and wonders when they will realise it was not him but Toni promises he will be long gone when they do. 27 years later Mad & Hel sit on a balcony of a gorgeous hotel overlooking a park, lakes and mountains, somewhere in Switzerland. The scenery is totally lost on them as they moan to eachother. They may look stunning but are plagued with deadly boredom. Helen suggests places to go but Madeline can't be bothered to get excited. Madeline looks out into the park where she notices an old couple and she riducules them for being old and finds them 'pitiful'. Not Helen though, she looks at the couple with longing. The old couple sit down on a grassy area and they drink some wine. They touch hands and here we see that the man has still one young hand. It's Ernest & Toni, old, but well groomed. They enjoy the afternoon sun with eachother, then we see Mad & Hel watching them, perhaps realising who the old people are... and as the movie fades out on their beautiful faces they turn to skulls for a second. Because this subplot and ending was removed and reshot a lot of other scenes were removed as well. The whole wedding ceremony is gone, sex scene between Mad & Dakota, Rose the maid had 3 scenes one in which she finds Madeline stuffed in the home freezer, Helen & Ernest meet up to revise their plans at the Four Seasons hotel, Ernest bumps into a dead priest on a slab at the morgue, Lisle tells Ernest she is in fact more than 600 years old and she killed Shakespeare and other because they refused to take the potion, she also had a great funny speech at the Spring Party etc etc... an immense amount of scenes were cut last minute. The ending was deemed too soft during previews (although others said it really left a deep impression on them). So they opted for the more wilde and crazy ending. Goldie Hawn did an interview about this and to put it mildly she wasn't happy with the choice to change the ending.
@foreverfangirlsreviews2 ай бұрын
We had no idea about Thelma and Louise. Seems this film has a lot of interesting stories, deleted scenes, and backstory!
@XanArt212 ай бұрын
David Koepp & Martin Donovan wrote it. The original movie was much longer with a subplot. It was around 2 hrs. Originally Ernest falls into the pool and when he wakes up on the bottom he sees the potion vial still intact, floating around. Ernest grabs it and crawls out of the pool. Jim Morrison says: "Are you gonna be done soon or what?" And Ernest says "Yes!" waves the potion in front of Jim's face and goes "And so will all of you!" The whole deleted resolve of the third act was about Ernest's escape and him wanting to expose the cult. He drives off to his neighbourhood bar (established in an earlier deleted scene in the movie) to his 'girlfriend' Toni played by Tracey Ullman. She has one customer in there (a drunk comatose dude) with his head on the counter of the bar (in an earlier scene as well). Ernest shows Toni the potion and they try to come up with an escape plan for Ernest and Toni will bring the potion to 'The Times'. Then the drunk gets up and points his finger up as if he has a great idea. He looks at the potion and suddenly drops dead on the counter right there (his toupee falls off) (you can see a shot of this in the theatrical trailer). Since the dude only hangs out at the bar and has nobody in his life they decide to dress him up in Ernest's clothes to fool the ladies. Madeline and Helen are at the mansion wondering where Ernest has gone and eventually notice the liquor cart and then they realise he's at the bar and they take off. At the bar the cops and an ambulance take the gurney with 'Ernest's' body on there as Toni confirms to the cop she saw Ernest die right there and when Mad & Helen arrive she starts fake crying and tells them Ernest is dead. Helen: "Dead, Ernest is dead?! EVERYBODY'S DEAD!" (Also in the trailer). Madeline wants to see the body (find the potion) and starts lifting the sheet off the dead drunk's face. Ernest (hiding in the alley) notices it and throws the potion vial to Toni. Madeline drops the sheet just in time and Helen grabs the potion from Toni's unwilling hand. The cop asks Madeline if it is indeed Ernest and Madeline finally realising she is a grieving widow and confirms it's him. The cop says she has to officially identify him anyway at the morgue, she thinks back, swallows and goes "I'll just send someone!". The ambulance takes off while Helen and Madeline realise they are now stuck together forever... as they turn to eachother with forced smiles, that look more like grimaces. Ernest and Toni have met up at the bar and watch the women leave. Ernest realises he got away but is sad he had to give up the potion as he looks into the sky. 27 years later A beautiful scenery of mountains and lakes somewhere in Switzerland. Helen & Madeline sit on a balcony of a gorgeous hotel. They still look stunning but are bored to death, they've been everywhere and seen everything. They bicker back and forth until Madeline sees an old couple walking in the park. "How pitiful! Look how old they are." Madeline goes, but not Helen who looks at herself and then at Madeline. She looks out to the old couple with longing who have now settled on a grassy area drinking some wine as they enjoy the late afternoon sun. The old man touches his wife's old hand... with his still young hand. It's Ernest and Toni, old but still very well groomed. Madeline & Helen keep watching them and as the movie fades to black on their perfect faces they turn to skulls for a a few seconds leaving a last eerie image of the Eternal Ladies. Because this ending has a bit of a tonal shift people felt 'deflated' it was decided to reshoot 3 scenes. Ernest now doesn't find the potion intact in the pool, the whole third act at the bar is gone and replaced by Madeline & Helen not finding Ernest at the house where they start to peel and the Funeral ending. This was a very last minute reshoot (one week before the NY premiere). Because this was all erased from the movie they felt the need to change the overall pace so there are basically removed and heavily trimmed scenes everywhere. After Ernest picks up the formaldehyde there is actually a whole 24 hrs of events removed. Helen & Ernest meet up at The Four Seasons hotel where Helen tells him they have to bury Madeline but Ernest tells her Mad & Him have reconciled (Helen: "Ernest, that's SICK!"). Ernest eventually chickens out, then there was a whole morning scene with maid Rose finding Madeline in the freezer, all frozen, but awake. Ernest rips Madeline from the freezer (this is in the trailer) and she starts walking around like some icicle zombie. Ernest fires the maid and he starts lifting Madeline up the stairs ("I'm sweaty!" "I don't think it's sweat dear I think you're defrosting!" also in the trailer). There was also two short little scenes with Helen exercising like crazy (another trimmed subplot) and her shopping for the hardware where a Clerk implies she has killed someone when he rings up all her suspicious stuff.

I remember seeing the deleted scenes on here, but didn't know about the significant editing. I wonder if it was the time in which the film was released that made the tonal shift feel deflating. Hopefully HBO considers your points and develops S2 well. Heck. If it ended up breaking game 2 into 3 seasons - as long as it's done properly - we wouldn't mind. We do wonder if Nauggt Dog has some input into the story moving forward. If they're releasing game 3 in a year or so, maybe HBO works with them to not overlap the story of each installment. That would also allow more time for the 3rd game to be fully digested by the audience before the conversion to film.

I started with ColecoVision back in the day. Still love gaming, but the 2nd game... it's a lot to process. The emotional journey is beautifully done and powerful in itself. But it is divisive, and I'm not sure Sheila will like it. I've had time to sort through game 2's story. She'll be processing it fresh. It's going to be a lot. - K

No spoilers! I LOVED both games equally and loved the first season. As surprised as we were with Bella and Pedro's performance I think we'll be equally amazed by Kaitlin Dever. She is really talented. Plus Catherine O'hara and Jeffrey Wright will be a real treat. The ticking clock appears in the first game at the very beginning in Line 1, Scene 1. It is also REALLY prevalent in the 2nd game near the end, right before the Epilogue - again no spoilers but it's a theme. Glad they added it to the show here. Season 2 will only be 7 episodes (confirmed by Craig and Neil) so they will likely do what was speculated - the 2nd game will be split into season 2 and season 3. Two of the main characters for the 2nd game are still yet to be cast, but HBO has not confirmed a 3rd season yet so that leaves me a bit worried. Great reaction! <3

I'm glad to see them splitting it up. I was worried about 7 episodes and so much detail from the game possibly being lost in the transfer from game to screen. As for the ticking clock, I don't remember that. Then again, I might have blocked it out, thinking it was part of the clickers 🤣 Did you like the episodes that expanded on characters, like episode 3? - K

@@foreverfangirlsreviews Absolutely I loved Episode 3 but I've always been a big Nick Offerman fan so I was all in. I miss the interaction with Bill and Ellie from the game but I think they were able to show how feisty Ellie was in different ways in the show. I have a PhD in TLOU walkthroughs on YT 🤣. I've watched both games cutscenes 100's of times so that is why I recognize the ticking clock. I probably didn't notice on my playthroughs or know that it is used as an anxiety-inducing vehicle in storytelling until TLOU. You'll hear it in shows and movies now and be like - aha I know what you're doing! Best of luck, commenting for the algorithm <3

I am in total agreement with you on how they treated Nicole throughout the movie. Also, really unhappy with how they basically put Dom as Waverly instead of Waverly being Waverly. It wasn't character growth of Waves it was basically Dom the entire time. I have been doing a rewatch of the entire show and the Waverly we know is nothing like Vengeance. If you are going to do character growth it should be the actual character not the actor.
@foreverfangirlsreviews2 ай бұрын
Maybe if they had a full season to develop or showcase all the changes for each character, it would have felt less jarring. But 90 minutes wasn't enough. Hopefully, we get additional Earp to allow each character's growth to be shown on screen.

Wynonna’s backstory in the special as a 15 year old messing around with magic to prove her “delusions” and accidentally creating the special’s Big Bad Mina. We need to address this inconsistency as a fandom. Besides from the fact she was very knowledgeable about things that are an inconsistency not just in the lore of the TV show but also for her characterization… I think her motivations to use magic to prove herself is definitely something that Wynonna would attempt to do. Especially with feeling as powerless and insecure as she felt back when she was a juvie-stained teenager who just wanted to protect Waverly. I think that makes sense for Wynonna at that point in her life and Nedley does bring up the truth of this in the special. That she was a little power hungry and she deep-down thought her father and big sister were horrible to her and due to always being the “weak one” she couldn’t really do anything but sit and stew in her borne insecurities. Hence why her main priority was always Waverly - who was just as weak but a whole lot smarter than her. So what I don’t think makes any sense at all is that she was basically more like an aggressive Waverly in those flashback scenes in that she was hyper aware of and so adamant about things that adult Wynonna isn’t and has already proven wasn’t in the TV show. That whole spiel 15 year old Wynonna gives about the homestead being built on a bedrock of the mineral ammolite to ward off the evil that wanted to attack her family… Honestly, sometimes I think Emily knows and loves her characters so much to the point where she ends up just mixing them up because in 1x02 the character that knew that information or was smart enough to figure it out was not Wynonna. It was Dolls. It’s not that 15 year old Wynonna wouldn’t do those things in those flashback scenes that we saw. It’s that she was uncharacteristically knowledgeable when she did. The storytelling feels off because the character does. And I say this all the time - but how to avoid that is by wrapping the narrative around the characterization rather than wrapping the characterization around the narrative. In other words: if Emily had just thought for a moment about what kind of character Wynonna is or would be when she was that age - she wouldn’t have made an inconsistency in both the lore and character. So I like the backstory. I even like the portrayal by the actress. What I don’t like is the OOC script writing for a 15 year old Wynonna who had no idea what the mineral “ammolite” even is or was used for, let alone knew the homestead was built on a bedrock of it because it wasn’t even HER who figured that out. And it certainly wouldn’t have been a 15 year old Wynonna who would be knowledgable enough to figure it out. A 15 year old Waverly. Sure. A 15 year old Jeremy. Sure. Even a 15 year old Dolls. Sure. A 15 year old Wynonna?

You're right. Maybe this could have been a young Willa or Waverly. It could have been a high school teacher or a friend's mom that sucked into the portal etc. But yes, there is inconsistency with that aspect.

Waverly going on a temporary trip to Egypt to reconstruct a corrupted Black Badge Division. Waverly and Jeremy. The BIG brained duo. Honestly, I’m happy for her. I acknowledge that Nicole couldn’t come with her due to the whole Angel’s Shield stipulation but then I think that would kind of be counterintuitive and counterproductive if she could. This is WayHaught’s necessary break from each other to find their own paths in life and follow their own ambitions - and to be actually EQUAL in their marriage which I kind of understood was the point of the contention between them in the special. Nicole was holding Waverly back. Not selfishly as such. She just didn’t realize Waverly wanted more - or more specifically - wanted to be more than just a wife. Nicole wasn’t around for Waverly declaring “Shut your patronizing mouth garbage. I can be a hero AND a wife” but their wedding vows were pretty pointed when it came to that. They need equal partnership and for Waverly, that means having an adventure where she can use her full potential and learn new things and just be her own guide and warrior in life. It’s not that it’s not something Nicole doesn’t want either. It’s just that she already has it with being the Sheriff of Purgatory and she’s fully satisfied with that. What she does want - however - is something much more personal and that is to have a kid with Waverly. Which - I mean - ugh… every time I think about this subject I just have a screaming “what about Rachel?!” response come from the back of my mind because where is Rachel and why isn’t she mentioned? That WayHaught conversation was the time for her to be but they cut all that short following Mina showing up. I mean I like it when WayHaught get interrupted but not like that. Not when they were about to have an important conversation that we really needed to hear - at least as far as… WHERE THE FUCK IS RACHEL?! But yes, I am satisfied with this next step in Waverly’s journey and I believe it makes complete sense for her. Can they actually manage long distance? Maybe their libidos can’t. But time will tell whether their love for each other is strong enough to withstand separation. And for them to be equal partners in life and love. In marriage and heroship. This is what it’s going to take. Can the WEARP fandom be okay with that? I don’t see why not ‘cause surely they’d want them both to grow. As for me - I’m used to seeing main female characters that are in a relationship go off on their own for awhile to do their own thing for their individual development. I expect it. More than that. I encourage it. WLW/queer relationships are great and I love seeing WayHaught together. But I also love seeing them individually too and how their dynamic changes and evolves based on the contrasting effects of being together vs individual. It’s one of the things I love about Xena and Gabrielle. How they’re so much a part of each other that they can be separated and still be whole characters alone and I don’t like any form of art/entertainment that perpetuates the ridiculous notion that they can’t be because it’s insulting and condescending as all fuck. I wasn’t worried about the conflict for WayHaught in the special in the slightest once I realized where it was going because I knew they would resolve it just fine. I just wish they hadn’t cut THAT conversation short because even if Waverly didn’t answer Nicole about whether she wanted to start a family with her or not, I still wanted them to talk about RACHEL because ??? It was just a gross oversight of a significant character from Season 4 of the TV show and the only thing I can honestly say really bothered me about the special because even if Emily doesn’t consider Rachel to be WayHaught’s adopted daughter, I still need to know about where she even is, why she isn’t mentioned and how WayHaught aren’t fucking concerned about her! Everything else in the special that I disagree with I can take with a pinch of salt and be just like “meh, it’s whatevs. You can’t please everyone” but NOT THAT! If Emily just wanted to erase Rachel from the storyline, that’s a choice that has to be acknowledged in the characterization because - what the fuck, Emily?! 😑
@foreverfangirlsreviews2 ай бұрын
First, we agree completely on the Rachel aspect. Even a throwaway line, explaining she is in college or away with Billy and some friends on a fishing trip would have sufficed. Not sure if Audible has filled in this gap or not as we haven't heard it yet. As for Waverly going to Egypt, while they say she will be back for Easter - there is no clear delineation for her permanent return. While traveling and being the big brain duo is wonderful and allows massive character growth, that in itself is also an inherent issue. Growth does change a person on a psychological level. That's wonderful. However, there was nothing that stated Waverly couldn't create a BBD outside the GRT away from prying eyes to do the same thing. Why Egypt where she would have her own team and no direct contact with those same people who helped be her foundation? Yes, we are positive their love is boundless, but as we said - sometimes it isn't enough. You can love someone, but can't be with them anymore. Distance can make the heart grow fonder, but it can also make you grow apart father than the physical miles. Again, just our opinion, but we wanted to make sure it was clear. As for Xena and Gabrielle... not sure we can compare them to Nicole and Waverly. Yes, they were strong women and yes the actors portraying them did believe the two were in love. But on screen they were not. It was all subtext. So in essence, they had to be strong on their own because one day it was possible for them to be married off etc.
@Girl4Music2 ай бұрын
That’s a fair take. Just a heads up, the Audible does address the Rachel issue so when you get time to listen to it, answers are there. Still would have benefited for them to have a one liner about it in the special though. As for Xena and Gabrielle. I cannot say it was ALL subtext because the final season alone does have main text episodes where even if they weren’t together as a couple, they were still depicted as best friends in love at the least because there was romantic feelings between them and they made an effort to show that that was the case. The debate I feel was more were they monogamous or playamorous rather than were they/weren’t they because - as I said - there was a few episodes where it couldn’t really be denied that there was anything there between them. A lot of people who haven’t seen up until the final season do not know this though. The creators sided with the fans.

Oh good! If there is more Earp, maybe they will bring Rachel back for some scenes. As for Xena, the last season was not met well with fans, right? Trying to remember if it was. Either way, Xena was a great show.
@Girl4Music2 ай бұрын
@@foreverfangirlsreviews the last 2 episodes were not. The season as a whole was quite well-received by the fandom especially because there was main text episodes such as The Ring Trilogy episodes and ‘When Fates Collide’ - which was written by a fanfiction writer who specifically writes X&G femslash. Because the creators sided with the fans - the last season basically confirms the romantic subtext. They just had to be careful with it.

Those episodes were some of the best ones. It might be that we block out the last few episodes as the ending of the series felt like a tonal shift or a simple way out. One of our favorite episodes was Remember Me. That, to Kimberly, was one that also showcased the connection between the two characters. But overall, I'm sure you would agree - Xena was one of the many shows that walked so WayHaught could run.

A lot of people in the WEARP fandom seem to be having issues with the WayHaught narrative in the ‘Vengeance’ special. Specifically with the dialogue used of Nicole “holding Waverly back” and “keeping her on the hook” and being blamed for Waverly’s miscommunications about her desires and ambitions. I feel like I need to address this because I think people are taking it WAY out of context based on the specific dialogue used by the characters and I want to throw some perspective into people’s opinions with this. Wynonna saying what she does to Nicole is just Wynonna being Wynonna. Those are just her words and accusations. They’re not a statement of fact about Nicole or even an accurate account of how Waverly thinks or feels about Nicole and her treatment of her. It’s literally just Wynonna talking aggressively to Nicole because of what she’s got going on in her head at that moment. It’s not a true reflection of what’s actually happening. Wynonna’s just taking her stress and frustration out on Nicole because she can and because that’s what she does and because she loves Waverly so very much and is worried that she’s letting married life change her. Waverly has not egged Wynonna on or got her to fight her own battles or anything like that. Yeah,… she’s talked to her sister about the way she’s feeling. She’s talked about her anxieties. But none of that has anything to do with Nicole or how she believes Nicole is treating her. Wynonna has just perceived it that way because she always takes things to heart and blows them out of proportion. That’s just what she does. Especially when it comes to the people she loves. Especially Waverly. Nicole, however, has taken in what Wynonna has said personally and thought about how having Waverly around 24/7 is actually hindering her growth and not helping it. She realizes that she kind of has been holding her back. Obviously, it’s not in a selfish way. It’s just in the way that she was not aware of what Waverly wanted or needed because Waverly just had trouble being open and communicating that with her - which also isn’t something that should be taken as a reason to blame either of them for their contention. This is a completely natural and normal thing that all real life married couples go through and the special is just representing that because it’s just an interesting subject to explore. Especially between two women. There’s no animosity there. There’s no aggression there. That’s all Wynonna butting in and just being her usual flawed emotional hot mess self - which we love because that makes her real and raw and compelling. There’s no one to blame with any of this really… and why do we even need to blame anyone anyway? 💁♀️ This is just interesting storytelling that probably just needed a little more time to really explore properly so that this subject wouldn’t be taken so out of context. I mean people can interpret what goes on in the special any which way they like but why they have to think of it as more serious or dramatic than it is I… I honestly do not see it that way myself at all. I just see it as a realistic representation of very natural, normal and interesting to explore storytelling of married life. At no point did I see any of this narrative in the special look toxic - as if they were on the verge of a break-up. What I saw was partners very much in love figuring out equal partnership in very early years of their marriage. The “drama” or “conflict” between WayHaught came about very naturally and it was resolved very naturally.
@foreverfangirlsreviews2 ай бұрын
While we agree this was Wynonna being Wynonna, saying those words to her best friend was somewhat cruel. At this point in the story arcs, one would expect the character to have some growth to talk to Nicole in a slightly different manner. Not perfect or without some flaws in her tangential direction, but Wynonna could have been more compassionate in her attempts to make her best friend see Waverly's internal struggle. You may feel this is being taken out of context, but without further development or a series-like structure, we cannot say that for sure. All we have are our extrapolations based on several seasons of enjoying Wynonna Earp.
@Girl4Music2 ай бұрын
I think stress is a major factor as to why Wynonna acts the way she does in that scene. She’s just found out someone from her past wants to hurt her and her loved ones down. She’s not in the best state of mind and so just lashes out at Nicole. Again - very Wynonna.
