I would like to see the filtration system please. How is it they are not swimming at very high ammonia levels? I, too, would like to have a high stocking density and be able to justify to the wife that I CAN add another koi, and another, and another...

it's a winter holding tank, no heating so no feeding during this time. Their filtration system is still massive to keep the water clear tho.

It's impressive, but they could've given that large pond any shape, and it would've gotten famous due to the high quality in every single koi swimming in it.

I fond it hilarious that there's 2 types of koi keepers. The traditionalist and the ecosystem. One does it with extra filtration and equipment, usually with a concrete pond. The other with an "ecosystem" pond without a lot of the extra filtration equipment. The only thing most have in common is they both make fun of and are exacerbated by the others' ways of doing them.

Since I can't afford nice gosanke kois yet, I'm currently settling for much affordable mujimono kois. They maybe only have one color, but you get AMAZING body shapes from them. I hardly ever found "pattern" kois to have my preferred body shape and pattern in a fish than a mono color kois. But if one's have both they're sadly well over my budget.
