Came for Xenoblade and good story analysis, staying for being a radical leftist (mildly joking, but love to hear it!).

2:54:57 Did you ever end up playing Super Paper Mario either on stream or off? The answer to your question is "very". The gameplay is very divisive but the writing is what people almost universally compliment so if there's any possibility of a blind reaction from you I'd be super interested to see it.

I did not! Kinda hoping it gets a remaster within the next couple years. It's on my list to check out, though!

I usually see gameplays of this game and just look to the most important plot points, but with you I have to see everything to see what things you can grasp and theorize with the smallest quantity of information possible; it is so fun how much you see with just a few conversations 😅

Big ups to Hidden Power Podcast for the intro to you and all things J. Steinberg! The idea of a person of your caliber and experience, playing Pokémon is such a money idea. That idea regarding them implementing costs to use the PC would indeed be amazing. Realism in a Pokémon can be more than graphics. More and more you are becoming one of my favorite people, Jake. 💓🥹

@@JakeSteinberg they are kind of the same but different. the TM names in yellow legacy are an absolute genius idea, such as exclusive icon for each pokemon, but Pure RGB has a lot of beta content such as moltres volcano island, and "high-res" front pokémon sprites, and a lot of customization preserving the "vanilla" aspect of the red/blue/green (like Yellow Legacy does on the yellow version). As a pokémon fan like yourself, I think you'll really like it! To try to convince you, take a look at the presentation video from the creator Vortyne, it feels like a love letter to red/blue :)

Idk if I fully agree with all of this but I still have a relatively negative take on the game compared to the rest of the comments. Like I agree I could have just been link the whole time and it would have made no difference. For me the bigger problems were things like the tedium of going through the echoes, and the dungeons while a step in the right direction were far too linear for me. I think some of your criticism tho misses the mark tho because a lot of fans wanted this to be a more traditional Zelda.
@JakeSteinberg2 күн бұрын
I am confused by how what you're saying conflicts with what I said in this video. This isn't a review. The general point is that Echoes of Wisdom trades ingenuity (a Hallmark of the Zelda franchise) for familiarity. I don't like that, but I'm not really saying this is not a good or fun game, just that the differences that playing as Zelda allows for are more cosmetic than anything else.
@FatePokemonКүн бұрын
@ If this video is solely about how playing as Zelda feels hollow then I agree. To me it feels like you were making a greater stance on how safe the game played it on other ways too though. Like how you went through the part about how we saw the zoras the gerudo ect. I’m a massive Zelda fan but I’m not sure I would call ingenuity a hallmark of the Zelda series past Ocarina. My main disagreement, if you could call it that, is just that a traditional Zelda is what fans wanted this to be. Either way I would like to say this was another banger and I appreciate you replying!

I love not being a literary analysis expert and just like letting the game guide me through all its twists and turns, and at the same time I adore watching someone with more critical thinking and analytical skills spell it out beat for beat as it happens

I told myself I'd just take today to relax before I gotta do various things later. Didn't think I'd watch 7 hours of a TTYD playthrough from 8 months ago but I'll definitely take it.

This was an absolute crazy watch. like having it so almost right but just wrong enough to be like a crazy AU. like the biggest ideas are like *just about* right that this is simply just a version of the story that was left on the writers room floor like im FLOORED

I know I'm 8 months late on this VOD (I'm watching these as I wait for more Xenoblade content), and I need to commend you for being a great person on this (almost) God forsaken website. You have such genuine reactions, I can FEEL you're not faking anything, and you're so happy with all of this game has to offer! I won't say that you need more subs, more awards or more attention. I just want people like you to be happy, because I know people like you spread that happiness with others. I hope you can always have good days <3 ...and yeah, this game is AWESOME when played unspoiled. I can't wait to see the rest :D

Having Xord be the first speaking Mechon was such a good way to handle the reveal of speaking Mechon. He is the first Mechon we meet that can speak and they make sure to have it be one whose personality is absolutely nothing like how we would think it would be, making it even more strange.

Not sure if it is intentional or not, but the name Gadolt makes me think of the short play "Waiting for Godot" about two men having an existential crisis as they wait to meet a man named Godot who never arrives. It feels like a poignant reference when viewed with that flash back scene of Sharla saying she'll wait for Gadolt to come back and we see Gadolt walking away into the flames.

When I was younger, I really didn’t play this too that much. But I played it with my son and he loved the game so much and his favorite moments were in disc 2. I really appreciated how much narrative threads were wrapped up in disc two. As long as you’re OK with the visual novel mix with gameplay
