He doesn't. As with many shows on Disney Channel back in the day, Disney would pay a studio or distributor unrelated to them a fee for the rights to broadcast a program that wasn't a Disney original. That's how ABC Family (a Disney-owned company) is able to broadcast the Harry Potter movies (a Warner Bros. franchise) on that network these days, just as an example. They would simply do the same thing back then for Magical World.

Of course, I can't forget about the 90's kids! That decade was awesome too! I'm just an 80's baby myself, so I got a little single-minded. :)
