I doubt mexico will allow us to properly use air power to protect these guys. This isn't gonna be like the middle east where we can set up a fire base or have artillery really anywhere nearby. The only safe zone, without mexico's approval, will be back across the border or out to sea. Collateral damage in mexico is going to be a much bigger issue. Civilian casualties cannot be swept under the rug and there's gonna be major backlash within the states. Sure, in terms of raw fighting power, it looks good on paper for us but entering a town run by the cartel with no air support, no heavy weapons...

Of coarse we are capable I believe what is happening is guys are hearing and seeing trump openly and boldly talking about handling the cartels and I think some are forgetting Trumps favorite strategy he loves to lead through strength and say bold things publicly in order to illicit a response from the leadership of that adversary in this case Trump was looking for a response from the Mexican president. He was looking for her to take responsibility and after those bold comments Mexico sent 10,000 of their troops to the border. Some were say that was to stop us but no they agreed to the troops and it was to provide assistance to securing our border. Another example what the Colombian president trump was verbally bold on response to his nonsense and next thing you know the Columbia president is sending his privat jet 🛩️ to pick up illegals and take the burden off our military and the American tax payer So we can’t forget strategy. Trump is not stupid he is not just going to send delta teams without the right circumstances and we all know he listens to his military leadership that has actually done it before I saw several people post that it would not end well if we went after the cartels but I believe that they are forgetting those points At lease something is being done. It’s absolutely insane what the American people have tolerated for so long
