This is definitely a good thing! I'm a former OTR truck driver. Routinely when I would have a load going close to the border I would get a reminder not to call the local police if my truck was hijacked due to the fact that they were owned by the cartels!! They told us to call border patrol which in my opinion could be just as bad. Truck stops and other stores close to the border warn women not to be walking alone or to carry a gun. You gotta fight fire with fire sometimes.

It wouldn't just be the American military against the Cartels. The Mexican military (particularly Mexican Marines) have been viciously fighting the cartels for many years. It would be a joint effort between both militaries. Not to mention that Mexico has their own tier 1 equivalent assets (previously called GAFES but recently changed their name) and they constantly cross-train with U.S. Special Forces and U.S. Navy Seals.

As a person who has watched this topic, this concerns me. The Cartel exists on both sides of the boarder. There are TTPs that the Cartel doesn’t use on this side of the boarder. It’s not because they can’t, it’s because they don’t see any advantage in it. That may change once they are targeted by US Forces. We may see Mexico style violence in the US. If they can get drugs across the border, they can get military grade weapons through.
