I've had this unit for 2 years. First year was fine, but for months now 1 out of 4 times I get "Calibration Error" and the door does not open or close. You need to go through the calibration process to get the door working again. All ne batteries, no tangled string, no obstructions, no excuse. Its just too expensive for 1 reliable year. Once its not reliable then its useless.

My family had a white leghorn called bernice. one of my first chickens ever. so sweet, not flighty at all, laid eggs like a champ. I would get them again if I were to start over but you need to be prepared with the idea that they will probably hate you and not want to be touched.

I've got neighbors chickens from a block away coming into my yard and completely ripping up my lawn from The Roots any suggestions to deter the chickens other than talking to the neighbors cuz they're not going to do anything

Cutting off a couple seconds in to the number 1 on your list is crazy.

We love our Cochins. They do ok in the south Texas Gulf Coast summer

My favorite is Rhode Island Red . Will eat ticks and bug plus snakes if they are small enough. Oh eggs , huge .

I have 2 white leg horn. they're not loud and yes, they lay all year round, they lay almost everyday. and my cochin are doing just fine, and I live in Arizona. I can't comment on the fizzle because I don't have one.

Why would you not do frizzles?

The California leghorn is not that way! It’s white smaller comb and will have 3or 4 black feathers mixed in! Cochins are good setters in some breeds! But definitely not a great egg layer! Frizzles a show chicken fair egg layer! Iv had great luck with the speckled Sussex gentle a good egg layer and the turkens are a good hardy chicken good egg layer a meat as well gentle if handled daily from hatch!

I got white leghorns for the eggs. I regretted it😂 they are my most unsocial birds. I have 10 chickens and three ducks. One of the white Leghorns was perfectly fine when I bought her a chick and then all of a sudden one day her eye was foggy and she couldn’t see out of it. I don’t know what happened. I have raised mini chickens, and this has never happened before she just became blind out of nowhere, and then I noticed her toe was broken so now her toe is permanently sideways so she can barely see and barely walk and is terrified of everything and she can’t even clean herself so I have to take extra care of her.

Barred rock have been the most docile for me. Next up the orpington.

Had a polish rooster a real Dr Jeckyll and Hyde. He went to sleep in your arms and later try and pop out of the darkness to cockfight you!!!

My buddy had a bandy rooster.Tiny thing but would chase and attack the kids!

If your looking for friendly hi egg layers/output I'd go with isa browns, black astrolorpes, speckled sussex, rhode island reds, best free ranged breeds for hi egg output brown leghorns, welsummers, they are super flighty and alert birds been rasing chickens 30+years now I've literally raised every single breed dozens of times

LOL, he's right. I have all three that he mentioned. The White Leghorns are loud. The Fizzy is also loud.

My leghorns are freaks but I love them. They are skittish, but I know they still love me because every chance they get they lay an egg in my damn truck.
