Yeah I've been downloading a bunch of repacks from the end of the PS3/360 era. Like right now I'm playing through Sniper Elite 3! Also playing through the Need for Speed games! I agree with the comments, as long as repairmen will exist, and gaming nerds like us do that care enough about the systems to learn simple tuneups and proper care, gaming before the 8th generation will live on forever! Hell, I absolutely adore my 3DS still to this day! When I bring it out it's a really good conversation starter! Everyone has memories with those 😊

I love oldschool games way more than modern games. I grew up in the 90's with Snes, sega, ps1, N64. Started going back to them along with a lot of indie games 👌

Dusted off my old PS2/PS3 today, they still work! Also have ps5 so I can play some PS4 remakes on it. Going retro and phsyical media. F all of this modern gaming.

I just bought a XBOX 360S for $55+$10 shipping [advertised as working with screenshots of it on the TV]. When it arrives I'll boot it up to make sure it works, Buy myself a microsoft brand internal hard drive. Going to play some original XBOX games onto the XBOX 360 as well. Morrowind/Halo/halo2 if it never got the 360 release.

my next door neighbour was clearing out his loft, found a 360E and asked me if i wanted it for my son. Honestly, its an awesome console even in 2024. I hunted down "Singularity" (which isn't backward compatible) and was utterly blown away, hadn't had such a good time on the last 2 gens. Honestly the ability to put a disc in a play a game is a game changer! Its like ships having sails in 2024.

Sorry but the PS2 is the solution. the last great console that didn't require connection to anything other than a monitor.

For PC users an emulator is a great alternative ive been using RCPS3 to play some of the old Ratchet and Clank games i had forgotten how good games from this generation where

I recently traded in my series x, as I got burnt out with games and nothing interested me. I got myself a switch and I felt so happy playing Mario Kart and realised I just want to have fun with games. So I also got a Wii again for £40 and got games we used to play back then, and I’m just loving having fun with games again. So much so I’m considering getting an original Xbox so I can go back to one if not favourite games

I didn't know the crazy taxi game, but then I saw bioshock infinite and wet. now I think I forgot the others. may have to watch again

I also find old games satisfying and try to interest my son in them. Since I'm on the PC side this is very easy. Most of the games were available on DOS and early Windows so it's trivial to get them playable on a "modern" (10 year old) system. GOG sells them for a buck or so per game (patched to run on Win-10 or through their DOSbox) and others can be downloaded from the web. If push comes to shove there are embedded html versions on retro sites for thousands of them. The bad thing is that my son likes playing Doom to much after I introduced him to this masterpiece.

Yes old games are often better, but keeping up with the culture is why most people play games. Its like, yes the original starwars trilogy is better than the new movies. Does that mean I shouldn’t watch the new movies and rewatch the originals? No because I’ll be missing out on the conversation around the new media. Do people play the new CoD or FIFA because it’s better than the previous, or because that’s what people are playing right now?

We sold our old SNES for 10 bucks in a garage sale, couldn’t save the Wii but the Xbox 360 I hid so it wouldn’t meet the dumpster haha. Still have it to this day.

I've said this many times that the graphics in the late 360 days was more then good enough, just make games more in depth n higher fps but instead they decided to push for 4k and real life graphics and games are trash because of it.

Well... yeah? The whole joke of the level is that Guilty Spark doesn't see what the problem is and you're just stuck here. It's the "look kids, Big Ben! Parlament!" of Halo. When the devs say that it was a mistake, it's because most people didn't think it was as funny or interesting as they hoped.

Everytime I get stuck downloading games on my Ps5 or Series X, I feel like I'm stuck waiting for a way too long. 360 and Ps3, its great pop in the disc, its ready. Switch as well, pop it in and play it.

I do see something wrong here tho, the games in the newer consoles arw stored inthe discs and can be used whenever and without internet, with the only requirement being storage and some time to wait for the install, so i do think you're getting ownership of that thing

I'm still playing the same generation console 20 years ago in ps2 games. I'm Still having as fun as a lot of the new games.

Xbox 360 games always surprise me with quality interaction, graphics and how much you can do even AI sometimes most of the time I miss a ton of stuff because I assume you can't do most things or fun things

haven't heard of this one before, seems like the type of weird wacky stuff we just dont get anymore. Man that 6th gen era was cool

The variety, the zero to hero, the mix of tracks, spot race was nice, the menu hopping that 1&2 and 5 have, not great skins for racing then actual modidciations as prep then the skin. Something GT2 one make events make pretty annoying but those being random then GT4 hand picked is why I prefer them. 1 I hate the physics (got used to them better in GT2) and it's very short but it's a fair game for the time. The grind is bit annoying in GT1 better balanced in the rest of the series with smart car choices, smart part choices, smart tuning and good enough handling. I had to use the manual for the lightweight as to me it was unclear what cars can enter it. Analogue and d-pad are fair. Arcade and sim physics are hmm. I went with the FTO or the Levin or certain others. More power or whatever cup I wanted entry into type priority.

Well Hot Lap Racing is a game with ok Maximum Publisher quality, fair content, eh quality of rough, boring modes. $40 US is something, elsewhere high price. Enthusia style gate license tests.

I just picked up one an hour ago with 13 games, a wireless controller and kinect sensor for €20,- Only downside is the mere 4GB memory but i think i can use any of several external hard drives or pen drives i have laying around?

Its funny I got a gaming PC and I mostly eplay the games I played in my old PC when I was a child or the games I plated on my 360. Even the games I play from GOG use the no-internet installer

Classic games are better, because they were made to be fun. Now days they are souless cash grabs designed to be filled with micro transactions

I remember wanting to play that airplane game & now I can't get 1Tb 100 USD .to upgrade storage.
