This was always such a weird album to me. Opens with three "fake live" songs, tracks they never actually played on the Reunion tour. "Take Me" is buried deeper in the album as a fourth - I think they played it at a few shows but same deal, fake live song recorded in the studio. Rest is a hodgepodge of Alive I and Alive II songs that seem to be untouched aside from a uniform audience track so everything sounds the same.

There was no reason for KISS to rerecord this. The original is great

It would have been so much better if you had used the visual aspect of this video to highlight what we were listening to at each segment.

It’s rumored that Bruce Kulick played the guitars for this and the other songs on this album
@EricO-s3v13 сағат бұрын
First time I heard it when it came out I was immediately disappointed because, as a guitar player and lifelong KISS maniac, I instantly heard it was 1990s Paul singing and a lot of Bruce on guitar mimicking Ace.

Always knew, bass, guitars, and vocales were rerecorded, the drums sounds the same, although there are some pullishing on them

Here's an answer to the Quick Kwiz that none of you nailed: George Peter John Criscuola. I won't hold it against you! 😁 Also, last week's anniversary episode was fantastic. Keep up the good work, fellas!

@@kissfaq Perhaps you could enlighten us as to his birth name, because the majority of internet sources are also incorrect. Thanks!
@kissfaqКүн бұрын
@ He was always Peter. He was premature and breech, so his parents didn't immediately notice the hospital had flipped his name around. It was corrected in time for his baptism, and he's recorded as Peter George on legal documents as early as the 1950 U.S. census.

People! Go and watch this! Another brilliant, amazing document we can cherish, loaded with information, timelines, local reviews, obscure details.. Julian of course doesn’t do half work.. He’s a Kiss-a-holic ; ) And we are all so very lucky.. We are spoiled and blessed… This is hours and hours of work, preparation.. An amazing episode and I love all the little details, which makes it a complete story so you can peak from behind the Superman-curtain… THANKS Julian 🙏🏼

interesting that winterland video was a first time for many seeing early kiss. now we take that video for granted but for years it was hard to get a full copy until it got bootlegged, then the band themselves finally release it. not sure if there is any more early shows like this complete.

Love @kissfaq but I find it admirable that you guys can spend an hour every week or so talking about KISS when absolutely NOTHING of any interest has happened for over a year.

To quote Lonnie, "WOW!!!" I was just listening to the VV Expo episode again this week. I had no idea that Expo occurred this week, 7 years ago! It was a random listening choice as I'm reviewing the first 10 years of the podcast. Truly strange coincidence!! **cue the Twilight Zone theme music**

The black n white footage has this vibe that really appeals to’s me and even watching other shows by other bands I’ve watched! The Journey shows are awesome with Rollie lead vocals / Ten years after was cool n so many more ! Seeing Exposed back in 87 really drew me in to winterland ! Rock on Julien! ⚡️space ace ron⚡️

I had a very difficult 2024 and when I go through tough patches, I have a hard time enjoying much music or online content. However, this past year I got into your podcasts here on YT and found comfort and enjoyment listening back, exploring many previous episodes. So, in a way, you guys are (for me, at least) some kind of extension of the Kiss' world; Kiss was always what got me through hard times and you have done the same. Thank you.

Hi Julian, these song and stories are great! Got a question that I can't find any info on. I have a version of Shock Me that has a different ending. Do you have any info on it, what it is or where it came from. My copy does not sound very good. Lots of scratchy noises in the recording. I don't know if it's just my copy or if it's the way it circulates in collector circles... I would love to learn more about it and try to get myself a pristine copy if it so exists in promo form...
