So I’m back with another question if I wanted my song to be in minor or started with a minor chord all I would have to do is drop the first note down 3 semitones then after that follow the same family functions in video like normal?

I have a question. Here you talk about 7 chords. But i also saw some lessons talking about 12 chords (major, minor, dim, aug, maj7, etc. Hope you know already what am talking about). How are these two related??

🤔 there is 12 major keys but the 7 chords in this lesson are the diatonic chords of the given key built on the keys scale (seven notes and the octave) read up how to construct diatonic chords from the scale, there is also 12 semitones in any scale called the chromatic scale.

I'd also call the 'chord 5' the 'turnaround' chord. As soon as I identify 'Chord 1' when listening to a new song, my first guess for predicting a related chord is usually 'chord 4'. Thank you for this video! Excellent, and I love the Christian faith/family reference!

What a surprisingly pleasant video explaining the chord relationships and very well explained, I as a beginner have searched for this type of explanation and after this video I applied the concept to a few keys and have suddenly been able to make my musical improvisation sound reasonably coherent.
