What about when the ball hits the side glass low and dies, no power in it so it barely leaves the side glass and doesn't get anywhere near the back glass/

great video ! bh serve is very effective. On a fh serve i cant create the pace. With a bh serve i can mix up the power or slow it down. backspin side spin. Let it die near the glass. I usually use the bh only against good players on both sides. Against recreational players use the fh as i know they will hv a hard time returning the serve with the bh. I throw the balltoss high in the air this gives me enough time to prepare the stroke. I use a semiwestern grip

Beginner right handed player here, been playing for 6 months now ... I usually play on the right side.. tbh practically i dont follow the general role of both sides .. i would obviously do my best to give my partner chances and opening to score ... but i would also be aggressive whenever i find an opening for myself
@AlexWilsonIT3 күн бұрын
Beginner player (2 months) and also a lefty who after about a week has stayed on the right. When I come to the court with other beginners who aren't so clued up as I am (I read/watch videos a lot), it's sort of daunting telling them that the left side player should be the more aggressive one, and the one that will generally win the point while the right sided player keeps the point going and aims to set it up; but obviously if there is an easy one I will happily go for it. Early days so far, but generally my game has been built on lobbing to the opponent's backhand where they get a bit stuck. Although oddly played a game on Saturday against a girl with a tennis background, lefty, who played both sides. Asked her why during an drinks break and her response was that she didn't care!
@bainuli3 күн бұрын
If you are lefty on the right side, then you can also be the aggressive one 😉. The idea of roles that left side should be aggressive and right side be builder are usually determined when there is a team of two right handed players. This is because when the ball is in middle, the left side player gets to attack easier with their forehand side. As a lefty on right side you would have this same benefit when attacking a ball that is in middle. And if there would be a team of two lefty players, then I would suggest that the default roles are switched (right side player is now the aggressive one and left side player is the builder).

What would be your advice for a lefty? Should I also train both sides, even it makes no sense, because I will (almost) always play on "my" right side.
@christophera26063 күн бұрын
Not sure if this is something for you but I'm a leftie and I play some singles games in between my double games. You get to return serve from both sides and you get a lot of practice for your different shots. With double I focus on being an even better right side player.

Speed of the 3rd shot was actually less than that of the first 2. It just had all the necessary spin to go over the fence.
@sebulbathx3 күн бұрын
True. But what is funny is most strive for the first two types ie they think or want more power. At my level when someone gets out it due to their power and not technique and spin. And that makes them miss a lot.

While you are helping us Padel enthusiasts, ensure your videos are over 10 minutes so that youtube can place ads in-between and this will start another revenue stream for you. What if the opponent makes a low quick lob that is still unreachably high? It's very hard to make it back on time in that situation. IF I make it, I'm out of balance. Mostly my team mate gets ball in this situation. I try to get it but they don't want me to get it. But I've been suspecting that it's my job to get it to not get my team mate out of their position

Gonzalez has the best smash on the women's tour. Tapia has the best smash on the men's tour. That's for Premier Padel at least. I didn't manage to book a coaching session for your trip to South Africa. Are there any times during this weekend when we can say hi? I assume none of the coaching sessions can be viewed by spectators?
