Never going to happen. RH is the only shot we have. It's a bitch waiting years for it, but it's volunteer, and i don't see anyone else doing a dayum thing to try and get the game back. This comment is disrespectful and you know it. You're conflating Sandstorm with Project RH btw, they aren't the same thing. I think i explained that to you in one of my videos.

Nobody who played this game and stuck around will ever forget it. It really left an impact on all of us. Some more than others, for me this is where i met my wife. It's timeless. It's a slice of heaven lol.

Dude that is awesome! Yeah EQOA was special, not just because it was our first MMORPG, they just... don't make them like this anymore and they only ever really made a handful of games like it. EQOA was utterly unique however in the fact that it was so convenient to get started. Sure it was a hardcore game, but it was more accessible with the controller and lack of all that messy UI crap in the PC counterpart. EQ1 is fantastic... but's HELLA BLOATED with some pretty dated things, such as that butt ugly and uninspired UI that honestly, the old one from back in like 2001 looked better lol. It at least had personality. It's just more involved and technical, needlessly so imo since EQOA trimmed out all that fat, and got to what made EQ so great, exploring a vast, dangerous wild with friends whom you rely upon, and they rely upon you, you were all unique and needed in some way.

It just looked up Everquest online because I beta tested it as well and I wanted to see some nostalgia and it's crazy how many comments I've seen from people saying that they also beta tested it. I don't remember how I got involved in the beta but I remember getting approved and then eventually getting my copy in the mail and logging in and playing with all the other beta testers, such a good time and cool to see other testers commenting on these as well

I'm late here, but at first EQOA had none of that. It lacked music, foliage, it had no fog effects, it had no embers falling around zones that surround Lavastorm, because Lavastorm didn't exist yet. No ogres, no Alchemist, no tradeskills, No LFG tool, it had no duels, you could kill the coachmen and important quest NPC's needed to advance for weeks into launch. It didn't have an auction system. It was VERY barebones compared to what PC players were accustomed to at the time. Which is why this review is so negative. I think he was harsh, because it was the FIRST massive online RPG for consoles. Nobody else had the sack to make an open world MMORPG game without loading. It was unheard of. He could have been more considerate of how much of a pioneer this game was, and just how INSANE of an achievement it was then, and still is today. Devs look at EQOA and are mystified by it. The programming done was nothing short of IRL wizardry. This reviewer knew jack shit about the industry, as is the case with most journo's. Especially today, it's agenda driven drivel first, gaming dead last. But yeah, Frontiers brought A TON of things into the game. It was seriously intense, and it was only 9 short months into EQOA's lifespan. Too bad they dropped the ball after that, and only ever supported the game post fronts, with crappy in game updates. I'm still pissed at them for not releasing Underfoot. 20 friggin years later! 🤣 What a sad, pathetic nerd i turned out to be.
