I wondered why they are more black than actually Red. I have seen some pics where they are almost full orange or red. Do you know what the reason could be they are they black?
@FloridaExoticFishSales8 күн бұрын
Great Question! The more active the males are in courting the females the "redder" they get. The other key factor and probably most important when viewing our video is that most of the photos you see online or possibly in-person at a shop or aquarium is that they have artificial or replicated "natural" lighting. Our videos are taken outdoors in natural light, under bird netting and shade cloth and are in a 3,000+ gallon vault. There's lots shadows and a ton of green reflection not to mention the camera placement in most of the video is 4-6 feet away from the fish. (we zoom quite a bit in post-production of the video) If you were to see them up-close and in person their color would be much more pronounced. Thanks for watching and your question! Now go hit that subscribe button!

I have been at Mplungu. Standing in two feet of water tropheus came and were picking on my legs. So many all over the place. It took ride on the bus for 24 hours. One stop only. Props to that driver. Nothing but bush for whole trip. Few huts here and there. Could not figure out what are these people living of. Definitely not much. At the lake there is commercial fishery aimed for sardines. Many boats in the fleet. catches are huge. They have flash freezers for all the catch. There bycatch as well. Nile perch when 2 feet long is most delicious fish I ever ate.

So what in the world do you do with all the females of the species where people are buying predominately males????????????????????????????????
@FloridaExoticFishSales22 күн бұрын
Great question.. By far, the majority of our customers would rather have strictly males but ultimately end up getting a combination of males / females. Also, not all female-looking fish in the videos are females... Non-dominant males will only color-up once a certain percentage of the dominate male population have been removed. And... we will always hold back a certain percentage of adult females for future breeding efforts..
