Great looking obliques, used to have some back in the day, the male I ended up with was hyper aggressive to the point of being beyond obnoxious, probably the most aggressive fish I've ever kept.

I had one as an oddball when I got into the hobby. Maybe someday I’ll give them a proper setup.

I have a question. Do you have to shake the females that hard to get the fry they are holding? I have seen a few do it, but they weren't as rough? 😊

I had the exact same thing happen with electric currents in my tank from a junk power head

Viktoria is fun. catching these cichlids just on Fish hook. I would not dare to dive there. It is infested with snails which act as a host for parasite Birhazia. along the shore water is pretty dirty. maybe far into a lake on some of those islands water is clear. That lake faces many challenges. Lates has history and it is not good for those cichlids. I am glad that you spent time to make these videos. Better then Batman. Pseudo Msobo is not Deep. The Deep belongs to fish on Malawi side of the lake and it is Mem,be Deep. They are really deep. Msobo is on Tanzania side and live in 8ft of water. Somehow membe and Msobe got mixed up in USA

Do you by chance have haplichromis sp. Flameback. The top half of the fish is dark red and the bottom of the fish is steel gray / blue

I've found that once a mature male Central American cichlid gets beaten up, he never spawns again................. Maybe Dave will prove me wrong.............,.
