Ange using the Gold Truth here when she answers with magic really is such a tasteful addition. Perfectly summarizes everything about her choice and the entire series' concept of magic. So well done.

So Shannon is supposed to be Beatrice's mother, I do not see how "I cannot love him" is related to magic or real world, it's more like a memory when Batter didn't return and Shannon switched to loving George. Earlier I thought it was ep5 Beatrice (or Clair), but it was just a retcon.

4:56 This is my favorite part of the closed room duel, and an incredibly nasty trick on Beato's part. In a game where "to stop thinking" is to die, telling Erika that she has permission to stop thinking about half of the mystery is like handing her poison and giving her permission to drink it.

Yes, it all comes from the Umineko OSTs, although occasionally the videos' original creator would use songs that were included in the OSTs, but never ended up getting used in the VNs.

Oh, what I would've given to see a full novelization showing the potential conversation between Sayo/Shannon and George in 13:30 onwards... We all know Battler discovered the truth behind Shkannontrice, but we really never truly saw whether Jessica and George were capable of doing the same.

The Red Truth is an immutable statement written by the Game Master to build the Game Board. The Blue Truth is an assumptive or subjective statements made by characters or Game Masters to carry the Game Board forward. They are allowed to be false, as long as they don't contradict the Red Truth or violate the role of its own writer. The Golden Truth is an assumptive or subjective statement made by a special individual. They are mere conjectures, but they hold as much truth as a Red Truth. As long as they don't contradict the Red Truth, they can be treated as absolute fact. This is because the Golden Truth is a truth accessible only by Ange and Battler. Two individuals who are both Game Masters who write stories, and characters whose stories are being written. As they are characters, they are allowed to hold into subjective beliefs, but as they are also Game Masters, their subjective beliefs also acts as facts. The Golden Truth is, in practice, a fiction treated as truth. Because as a character writing their own story, Ange and Battler have the absolute freedom to decide how it goes. Like writing an autobiography, no one can deny anything Ange or Battler say, no matter how outlandish it is. Nothing, except the Book of One Truth, the only source of truth other than Ange's and Battler's account. That is why unless Ange changes her mind, she is invincible. She is writing a story about herself. And unlike Bern or Aua, she is not an outsider. And unlike Battler, she is still alive. In other words, the Golden Truth is simply Hope. As long as Ange keeps hoping, as long as she keeps believing, as long as she never accepts the death of her family no matter what evidence is provided to her, there will always be a chance for her to meet them again.

I love how Erika was very close to reach the truth, but was not able to connect the points. When her "double name theory" was denied in the adjacents rooms, she never thought again of the point "two names in one person", and yet, in Battler's room, try to confirm "every person in the room has their own body" and not "every person/body in the room has only one name". So close, so close.

Ok so I think I understand it now. The events of the game were all stories Battler wrote as Tooya in his books. But did his’s books create the meta world? Are his family’s spirits in the meta world of his books? Is it like some kind of after life? That’s the one part I don’t understand.
@straypaper3 ай бұрын
The meta world is the meta world. There is no afterlife. The meta world is a world between the book written by Tohya and the real world. The people there are merely recollections/memories of them as remembered by Battler, Eva, and Ange. They're one step above fictional characters in a story because they are real accounts of real people, but they're not living people. That's why the Golden Land won't die as long as Ange remembers them. Just like how Ange taught the crying kid, by thinking of a dead loved ones, you can simulate "what would they say if they were still here". Ange can do the same and simulate the whole Ushiromiya family, effectively bringing all of them back, even if only inside her head (aka the meta world). That's why she's the Witch of the Future, because unlike other Witches that can only recount stories of dead people, Ange can write new ones by simulating dead people.

Tragedy in Lion's world still confused me. I think there are things that need to be explained. We're all agree that Beatrice is born because Lion is living the life as Yasuda Sayo, which after they learned the truth, they became twisted and planning on massacre the whole family. However, Lion's world is different, they live as normal human being and don't even have murder intent. So, the tragedy shouldn't be happening..... Right? Ok, it isn't just solely on Lion. 1. The trigger was indeed from VIP Room. However, Beatrice doesn't exist. No one prepare the weapons, such as riffles and the bomb. No one explaining the mechanism of the bomb either. I don't think Kinzo also trying to muder everyone. I believe he wanted Lion to be alive, so he might just proposing the epitapth 2. I'm not sure if any of the adults bring any weapon. I mean they were supposed to come to VIP Room without any weapon, right? In Beatrice world, I feel like Kyrie and Rudolf just spontaneously carried out the massacre because there are opportunity. Beatrice explaining things, leaving all the weapons, which later would be used by Kyrie/Rudolf plan as excuse/alibi if they survive. In Lion's world, they maybe only find the VIP Room. Arguments between Eva and Natsuhi maybe still happen, but it shouldn't be to the point where Eva is able to kill Natsuhi. In the end of the day, everyone maybe just leave the room to calm their head and discuss things another time. 3. Even if Rudolf and Kyrie have murder intent from the start ,they should brought their own weapon. That aside, how they plan to carry this out? The bomb isn't activated, so they can't really remove the traces. The option probably either burrying the corpses or throwing them to the ocean. However, assuming Kyrie and Rudolf succeed, they still have to remove at the very least 12 corpses (cmiiw). That isn't a simple task. If they burry them, police might still discover Rokkenjima anyway. Since the bomb isn't activated, the traces might be more accessible to be discovered. If they throw them to ocean, there's a possibility that the corpse end up floating and will be arrived somewhere. Either way, it's a risky move. 4. I think Eva surviving in this world probably doesn't leave really good impression on her too. It makes so much sense that she will be accused as the culprit, at the very least shortly after she left Rokkenjima. Further investigation might find out the possibility of Kyrie being a culprit instead of Eva (Kyrie fingerprint on the Riffles and Jessica corpse probably). If someone want to accuse Eva, I don't think they have proof just as strong as Kyrie Fingerprint (Eva wear her gloves, so her fingerprint on the evidence might not be discovered). Ok, that aside, I think it's between Eva needs to reveal the truth or put all blame on herself to protect Ange. The investigation might still be going on, even if Eva intently hide the truth, there's higher possibility that the truth would be discovered compared to Beatrice world.
@Psychic_Sylph8 ай бұрын
The main point is the irony that Beatrice, the figure who is lauded as the curse that traps Rokkenjima and the Ushiromiya family and the source of their misery, was never the deciding factor on the tragedy of that night. The Ushiromiyas are a dynasty built on misery and blood, their rotten foundations where going to cave in on themselves any second. Beatrice was just a convenient illusion to distract from that fact, embodied in Sayo Yasuda who had the misfortune of being born as the culmination of everyone's sins. 1. Kinzo set up the bomb way before Lion was born so that no one could steal the gold, and also as a sort of suicide bait to motivate himself to think of a solution every time he had a problem with his business. 2. Even if there are no weapons in the room at that moment, the mansion is still full of them, and the siblings _truly_ hate eachother. Or rather, is more that they all would rather loose than allow the others to win even if they win too. Look at what happened in Sayo's world: splitting the gold evenly was the obvious solution, but the problem is that that would put them all _on equal footing_ , so Krauss pressed things so that he would have an advantage over them. Then when Krauss died and the obvious solution was to split the card and maybe some gold, Rosa took the opportunity to knock Eva down. 3. Back to the first point, Kyrie and Rudolph set the bomb to explode because they realized first than everyone else (including Eva) that the explosion will erase whatever proof of their being a murder on the island, providing them with infallible plausible deniability, a cat box for whatever happens that night. Eva could not stand the stinkeye of the public suspecting her, but Kyrie and Rudolph are much worse lowlifes than her, so they probably thought that wouldn't be a problem.
@someoneelseee_8 ай бұрын
hi, thanks for explaining. I still feel confused, did kinzo activate the bomb during the epitapth even if it would put Lion in danger? I feel like he wanted Lion to live their best, which also part of his forgiveness to Beatrice. About the bomb, iirc Sayo is the one who explained the detail of the bomb mechanism. It is even after she explained about her plan. How did Kyrie and Rudolf figure out about the bomb in Lion's world? I think without enough detail, they might only know it as a rumor. They might not even know which device to activate, aren't they?
@Psychic_Sylph8 ай бұрын
@@someoneelseee_ Again, the mechanism of the bomb exists beyond Lion, although Kinzo probably stopped playing with it with Lion around. Still, both him and Genji are alive in that timeline, and Genji in particular was waiting for Sayo when she solved the epithet in her timeline. Either of them probably explained the mechanism to the siblings, and then Kyrie and Rudolph took their chance.
@Rafaelrgm2 ай бұрын
@@someoneelseee_ Regardless of the world, it was explained that at the time of the family reunion every sibling was in desperate need of money and planing to do anything to get it. It was a situation where everyone could be a killer given the right circunstances, regardless of Beatrice or not. And the room with the gold is the same room with the detonator. Kinzo would probably explain what it was they found it to avoid accidents. Then they would fight, someone would die, and the tragedy happens. Rokkenjima on October 4th and 5th was a powder keg, figuratively and literaly. The only good thing is that in Lion's world Battler would survive and be there for Ange.

Also damn, this really recontextualizes a lot of what we know about Battler. Everyone was surprised at his sudden change of disposition towards Beatrice upon understanding the truth, but this chapter really explains why. Battler really is just *that* good of person. Sayo literally confessed everything and yet he still found it in his heart to forgive her and even convince her to live. It really says everything about how good-natured he truly is.
@thuantruong5013 ай бұрын
TBF Sayo did nothing wrong. She didnt kill anyone in the ends, all her plans fell since the Elders did solve the epitaph. She just activated the bomb and advised them to leave, all the massacres were from the Elders. Understanding this make us feel more deeply to Sayo, she had been holding the burden, the curse of this family since birth, could not share with anyone, her life was misery, her gender was misery, her body was misery, her identity was misery, her lovelife was misery, and at last she could confess everything to the person she wanted most, and be forgiven from him.
