Hi Rico, no I don’t live with anyone. I’ve never been asked to. Usually people who come as close friends or as a couple request to live together (if they teach at the same school). People usually live alone.

Evening, my original degree certificate is laminated. do they require a laminated certificate at dirco or chinese embasy? there are rumours that they do not need a laminated certificate. please assist.

Hi Unathi, from what I know, they don’t want laminated certificates. However, SAQA only gets a scanned document and that is what will go to DIRCO. So it shouldn’t be a big issue when authenticating the documents back home but I’m not sure if it’ll be the same when you go to China since you’d need to take your original certificate with as well.

It never used to take long until COVID happened, you could walk in and they’d do it for you. But now their backlog doesn’t seem to have been resolved. It could take a month or more.

This video resonated with me so much Koki. I moved to Korea 5 months ago and I agree with you - this is a different world. Colleagues don't greet you, people can be quite cold and unbothered by your presence to the point where it makes you feel invisible. In the 3rd month, I began to disassociate from the rest of the world and felt like I was living in this weird bubble where I only exist when teaching lessons. But it gets better, you get stronger, and God continues comforting and embracing us ❤
