I was always a Donny fan and have loved the Osmonds from my teens, and yes, he was excellent, but for me, Joe does it every time - such a fabulous voice

My top 6 performers after seeing the show 38 times with 32 different performers: Colm Wilkinson, John Owen Jones, Peter Karrie, Ramin Karimloo, Dave Willetts, Alfie Boe. With that order.

Michael Ball is hands down the best Javert i have ever seen. His performance all round is phenomenal. However, for this moment in particular... Its Quast.

A few singers here understand the importance of the way "We are occupied" is delivered. And how difficult to get the right tone. Since it's so great the way Head sang it, will always be be biased.

Though Anderson definitely understood, and did it right in his way too.

I stand to be corrected, but I think Murray Head was the "original" singer, and thus in my mind, the best. Definitely the most charismatic!!

Ball does a fine job, but why on earth doesn't he play Valjean? He is a natural. (It's a shame his ONE performance of the role at Windsor Castle wasn't captured.)

"I'm amazed, that men like you, can be so shallow thick and slow" - I don't understand what you're arguing about? I mean, for each person there's a personal icon/ideal/masterpiece, if you like Carl, you shouldn't have to impose your personal opinion, that "Carl - greatest Judas of all time!", to people, whose opinion if different from yours. I really like Murray Head, for me, no one ever sang this song better than him, but you think otherwise, and I'm okay with that, so should you.

Wow, this is a hard one to choose. I always love Karimloo singing it but I also loved Ben Forster and Jason Manford. Josh Groban also does the song justice. Too hard to pick just one.

Rubenstein sang the hell out it. The original is still the best.

Bryn Terferl never played the role on stage and I am not sure if he would have been a convincing actor in this role given how much overweight he has (fighting scenes!!??) but in terms of his singing voice he was the greatest of all time. All voices that aren't clearly baritone oder bass-baritone are a bit laughable with this song. If xou have a tenor voice and you must pull this number off you have only one choice: Give it a sneaky "Uriah-Heap-Style" creepy tone! But don't try to imitate deeper voices.

YOU FORGOT LINDA EDER!!! She nails it with her remarkable voice and keeps the essence of the original interpretation. It’s on her Broadway Album.
