Hey, i built today mine bit unfortunately while i fired up my tandoor the upper pot cracked multiple times any suggestions what to do now?
@CookingwithRishi
@CookingwithRishi 5 ай бұрын
I would buy some fire cement available from Amazon or a local hardware store: fill it with the cement and smooth it off When building a new tandoor it’s important for the first burn to be a low and long temperature burn

@@CookingwithRishi thanks for the quick reply, I first thought I would do it with clay, but I’ll do it now with fire cement. Did the stupid mistake that I listened to my mum and she said that the tandoor first fire has to be big so I’ve put too much wood in I have like six big hole cracks in it that goes all around the pot

@MyHead16 no worries if you look I have a video on how to fix a cracked tandoor it should help! Also always recommend using lumpwood charcoal and not wood! Wood will cause soot and make it all go black too

Great idea! 👍🏻Thank you for sharing. I am tempted to make one too. But I don't think we have Vermiculite in North America. I wonder if I can use a Ceramic Fiber Insulating Blanket 🤔 the label says it can resistant upto 1000°C. It is more made for fireplace insulation, I guess it should be OK 🤔

As said both fought better than expected. Leeds could have done without the showboating was the better fighter, Moore kept walking onto his right hooks and didn't have much head movement, covered up well but very limited, relying on jab and a couple of large right hooks which didn't land. Leeds was switching between head and body and had much better movement, especially for a larger guy. I guess ultimately great for the charity, I'm not a big fan of either way too egotistical and narcissistic for my liking but hey ho.

Rob Moore won that easy. Dominant Jabs (how the fight is controlled) , more punches landed, better combos, better techniques, better defence, movement in the ring. Those are what score points in amateur boxing, KD doesn’t carry as much weight in Amateur boxing, and throwing hard punches & windmilling certainly don’t either. Stevie wonder must have been judging this fight. How on earth did Samuel leeds win that is beyond me. Respect to both regardless for stepping in the ring.

Fair play to all who got in the ring. Fights were much better than expected. Leeds landed harder on the night. Massive money raised for charity and a great night had.

Samuel realised early that Rob didn’t have the power to hurt him, 2 different styles but just jabbing for 3 rounds which Rob did just wasn’t going to win on any decision.

The points are scored by - Punches landed - Tenchiques - Defence - Combination thrown - Movement In amateur boxing. KD does not carry the same weight as Professional boxing. They don’t look at aggression & power punching at Amateur level as much. Rob Moore should have won easily on decision.

Not heen funny but my two sons have been boxer's since age 10 yrs & 14 yrs and they have NEVER fought in a ring as small as that! Is that size ring even legal? Its like a nursery/kindergarten ring...SERIOUSLY how can anyone move around freely in a boxing ring so small? I would feel claustrophobic in something as small as that.

Just for optics This looks really bad for Rob. He was giving it large potatoes and came away easily defeated. If you was a guy looking to join a property course - you wouldn't be picking progressive right now

All opinions are appreciated but personally I wouldn't judge the outcome of a charity boxing match as to whether you would or would not utilise their property courses. Other factors are much more important like learning style, community, support network, content, etc I think prior to a fight it's important to give it large half the fight is mindset.

Not gonna lie I think rob landed way more but Samual was being cocky and controlling the ring so he won. He landed when he wanted played with rob but rob landed a lot of jabs. Rob Moore won 100% if anyone knows anything about boxing. It’s an illusion Samuel controls the ring because he’s heavier, & Rob doesnt have power so Sam keeps coming forward. I wouldnt say he controls the ring. Rob Moore was fighting he wants to fight which is to use his range, jabs & movement.

Worried about the dettol used for cleaning.. pizza stones can’t be cleaned with products because they will leave a bad taste on the food. I imagine it would be the same when you slap a naan on. Maybe water and some baking soda is a safer way

It was more a antibacterial spray than anything else - it needed something to remove any bacteria. The first burn and there's subsequent seasoning processes prior to making a naan, I've never had a issue

Great job Rishi! Love your videos. I built one with slightly larger pots than yours but my temperature on the middle/top part doesn't go up higher than 425F with lumped charcoal. When I add charcoal briquettes instead of lumped charcoal the temperatures go up to 600-700F. Am I adding less lumped charcoal or is my tandoor too big? Trying to get some Naans cooked for the boys. Any thoughts would be most welcome. Thanks!
@CookingwithRishi
@CookingwithRishi 2 жыл бұрын
When it’s heating up put the lid over it - the walls will heat up quicker. I find good quality lumpwood burns better than briquettes and with a heck of a lot less ash, but you do get a longer burn with briquettes. I would probably try two large handfuls of lumped charcoal and when the fire is going put your lid on, the lid should have a hole in it so it acts like a chimney You want a min of 650-700 F for the walls for naan to cook.
