"Acer Spatiallabs Eyes" camera was just released in Acer's Taiwanese website. Really hoping we get a worldwide release soon.

I was researching the Xreal Beam Pro and then discovered the upcoming Acer SpatialLabs Eyes Stereo Camera which has me interested with the 4K capability. Original release date was Q3 and it's now Q4. I'm not really finding much recent information on it. Any update on a release date for the camera?

No unfortunately, other than the fact they are still promoting it but obviously have missed the third quarter. Really hoping this pans out soon as it looks good 🤞
@digitaljackson38912 күн бұрын
@@jonathansabinvarietyfilms Fingers crossed as well. 🤞 Hopefully they did not cancel the release due to relatively poor sales of Apple Vision Pro, which was supposed to herald the rebirth of 3D, or as they now call it, spatial video. 🙄

Given Disney struck a deal with Apple to release 3D content on the Apple Vision Pro (including the HFR version of Avatar 2!) you'd think they'd unearth old Georgie's 3D conversions and release them for it.

Even a year later you are convincing me to buy this tablet. I've been a 3D fan since I was a kid. Despite the naysayers, I fully support 3D and want it to come back to mainstream. The Leia Pad 2, although a year old, is cheaper now so I can afford it. Thank you for your video!

What is the resolution? What is 3d video recording system? Picture is split horizontally or it makes two separate streams? How was the anaglyph in YT made? I suppose it was not mixed in the video file because of risk of quality loss (color data is normally less sharp than luminance data).
@jonathansabinvarietyfilms21 күн бұрын
All compact budget 3D camcorders from this era used half-width side by side format, in which left/right views were squeezed into a single frame and are therefore half the horizontal resolution, whether 1080 or 720. This anaglyph version was just made to get an idea of the 3D effect on any screen, but all episodes of this series are available in side by side (sbs) for channel members.

You definitely haven't tried the LG OLED 4K 3D 55E6V (my TV) because it's the best 3D TV ever made and it doesn't have the issues you describe (I know Prima3D have made 3D lately but I doubt they're as good as my LG 55E6V). Unfortunately it was the last 3D TV LG ever made unless they hopely start to produce them again.

First time on your channel and I'm always happy to see other people being interested in 3D. I hear you say you own a Samsung active 3D TV but you should really try to find a LG Ultra HD passive 3D from around 2016 which are the best 3D TVs ever made (maybe apart from the new ones made my Prima which I haven't seen live yet). The last generation LG 3D TVs was like 3D TVs should've been from the beginning and I'm sure 3D TV would have survived if that had been the case. 3D movies looks stunning on them and I own the "LG OLED55E6V" (55 inches). I really love and enjoy watching my big 3D movie blu-ray collection. I almost have every movie released in 3D worth watching which aren't for children only and I even have some of those because they have some fun 3D effects. I'm still buying 3D movies from Asia because they're not released in Europe anymore (last one I think was Avatar 2) like I just found and bought "The Marvels" in 3D but it was very expensive being limited edition. My hope for the future is obviously 3D TVs are coming back from the big TV manufacturers like LG, Sony and Samsung and I prefer without the glasses if the quality is just as good as with them (which I'm not sure about). My LG 3D TV obviously won't last forever so I hope it's sooner rather than later, but at least Proma3D are now making 3D TVs. They're quite expensive though until now (55 inches glasses free costs around $5000). I also hope they start to produce and release 3D movies again - especially action and fantasy movies since drama movies usually don't need a 3D release unless they're filmed a lot outside. Do you think the big TV manufacturers are starting to make 3D TVs again? (Is it realistic in the near future?)

Yes I saw it, and from what I could see the resolution improvements were minimal and of course had the same mismatched focus. Brighter clips filmed outside might reveal more detail though as the wide angle lens is smaller and struggles in low light.
