Waymo drove me around San Francisco at night in VERY dense fog that I wouldn't have been comfortable driving in. 10-20 feet of visibility? I was nervous the entire time, but it did fine. I just wonder where their upper limit is. This video certainly seems to suggest it's doing pretty well for rain, and my experience in fog makes me think they can do most fog situations.

@@agildehaus oh waymo can see perfectly in fog because it doesn't only rely on camera's the most important technology that helps it is lidar. Which is like a spinning laser that shoots light pulses to see and calculate distances it's very accurate.

Pretty cool you got to be one of the only people to try the Tempe section of the service area before it got chopped off! And going to gammage right as a show was letting out was an actually pretty genius move. Lots of cool stuff tested in this video, thank you for posting. :D

Only thing is you can’t see how many times a remote operator plays a part great till it crashes or something out of the ordinary happens then you’ll wish there was a person there instead

the car tells you when a remote operator takes control of the car. It will stop and a message will say "our team is taking care of this" this car did all the driving by itself.

I'm impressed! As an Uber driver, I will tell you that downtown Phoenix is one of the most hated areas for me to drive. This F Pace did it flawlessly! I can see Waymo being present in a lot of areas that most of us drivers hate to go. With a car that doesn't have a driver that develops an attitude, it'll be a lot less stressful of a ride for a passenger. Some of these drivers get really worked up in traffic, and the riders can feel that tension. Makes it a very uncomfy ride. Nice video! I've got a few videos on my channel with me either following one or spotting a few. I'm gonna have to ride in one of these soon!
