Hello, the teaching is fantastic. On 13:44, #5, how did you calculate or tell that the radius is 2?

Ma'am i still didn't get it why is our goal to find partial of z with respect to y can you please explain. And how can we determine that our z is the dependent variable.

Hi, so how do we know when to find the intersection between x and y and when to just sketch the region D from the graph we graphed.

Helo mam how do you see that the radius is 4 at 11:31
@alexandraniedden5337Ай бұрын
The radius is actually 1 and the height of the cylinder is 4. As you look at the figure, the "circular" part of the cylinder goes from x = -1 to x = 1, thus giving a diameter of 2 (radius of 1). The cylinder extends along the y-axis from y = -2 to y = 2, hence a height of 4. Hope this helps!

why is x=x0; y=y0 a plane. I thought it's a line ? e.g: x = 3; y = 5 is a line parallel to Oz and can have any z value. thank you
@alexandraniedden5337Ай бұрын
x=# and y=# both represent lines in 2-space. Picture the line x=3 on the xy-plane. When we consider the equation x=3 in 3-space, that line then "goes up and down" with z forming a plane.
Smn, answer please! At which grade do you study this?

Does this work if i have: Uxx+x=Ut 0<x<π U(0,t)=t U(π,t)=0 t>0 U(x,0)=(Cos(x))^(2) Because I tried using this video as a guide and my final Solution does not match the original P.D.E

I have a question for these types of limits: after I try direct substitution and got an indeterminate form, do I just go straight into proving the limit DNE or first try limit rules first to see if I can get a limit value, and if that fails I prove the limit DNE?
@alexandraniedden5337Ай бұрын
First try limit rules. Ultimately if you get an indeterminate form, the limit most likely doesn't exist, but not always.
