Hi Ben, Thank you for sharing your design plans - I really appreciate it. I followed them to build my own rig and it turned out great! It’s solid. The detailed measurements helped me avoid any guesswork. I'm happy to share photos of my build.

Are the upgrades to the valve train needed if I’m only doing two or three track days a year? Thought the ls6 was pretty solid other than the oiling.

Nice vid! 04 Z06 here. I have done a whole Sparco seat/harness setup, upgraded KNS cryotreated rotors and Hawk pads, steel braided lines and racing fluid, urethane sway mounts, spec endlinks, sticky Conti's and coilovers. I kept the stock wheels and the stock tire sizes and I tell ya what, this car can just go! Only one track day but just having upgraded seats alone makes these cars 100% better to run. I recall screaming (in bliss) in a long sweeper as I accelerated and all I was doing was turning the steering wheel. Before, when playing on the streets, I would just hit corners hard and I could barely keep myself in the seat. World of difference. Any way, great vid and filming!

This right here, this is my dream car. Thanks for the detailed video, did you address the oil starvation issue with the C5 ?
@BenFreedmanRacing7 ай бұрын
I didn’t seem to have any oil starvation issues but the best thing to do is research if the spec Corvette guys were needing to address anything like this since they push these cars to the limits and beyond

Here's a question. How do you know that the link which is left connected isn't preloaded before adjusting the one on the other side?

Because the swaybar can rotate in the bushings.

Just perfect. And how I drive. To not ever break into a curve and accelerate in with the curve. I would so love to line up some practice lessons. And I am so very near to you all. I was just tooling around back in my teens when it was called Sears Point. And by and was blown away that I was chosen to be among the first women to NASCAR. And was due to the Pit Stop folks. Johnny Urban (RIP) was a friend since were children. We'd build Mine Bikes Go Carts and all of that fun. I don't have a fear of Driving. I have a fear of being burned and living. And I love working and playing with Children, Youths and their folks. Racing Cars and being with horses are the TOP 2 to provide their self confidence. Thank you so much that wad fun!

Ice mode sucks. Luckily I've never encountered it. I think the only fix for it is the BMW ABS controller swap. The only documented fast lap I have there is a 1:53.7 in a 260whp 4th Gen Camaro on Toyo Proxes RR 275/40/17. Those tires, size for size, should be within 2 seconds of your tires. I don't say that to thump my chest as I left plenty of time out there. I say that to indicate that I think you're leaving time all over the track. The first thing that struck me was your (seemingly) early brake application into T1. If I lived closer and knew the track better I could offer more pointers, but like I said I left a bunch of time out there. Such a ridiculously fun track though!

Hi Ben - I've been looking at picking up a C5 Z06 and quite inspired by this build so far. Question - what are your thoughts on replacing control arm bushings and hubs? Seems like its a non-negotiable for the Spec Corvette guys but unsure if I would need on just a weekend/HPDE car assuming they are in decent shape to begin with.
@BenFreedmanRacing Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the input, I think the modifications shown here plus a seat, harness and harness bar would be the best progression. After these I think those would be a good next step

Have you tried to hold down traction control for a few seconds? Usually it turns off VSC which helps turn off all that assisted braking and more. I don't own a corvette so I'm not sure if it's a function you have but hey doesn't hurt to try.
