1st and foremost fck the haters 😡 2nd everything dies. One of the best lessons I ever learned, was during taking my Wardens test. Question; you're out fishing and have gotten your limit, then you get a bleeder. What do you do? This was an A-D multiple choice. I was later told that over 95% of applicants get this one wrong, because they feel it's a shame to let it go to waste..... "Nothing in nature that dies, goes to waste" Fish on 🦈

..this is not for you, you seem to be an honest respectable guy. But all these postings of people releasing their huge catches, or any catch are making people out like me who are like 50/50 catch/release out to look unsportsmanlike like when it is totally legal to keep the fish you legally catch. Me personally, any fish I decide to take I eat. See I'm doing it myself, if I want or if people want to hang it above the fire that's our perogative also! I wish their wolud be more fisherman shown fishing that keep them.

I have the upmost respect for you for doing catch and release and actually caring about the fish. I too feel bad when such a large beautiful mature animal, fish included die for no other purpose than man’s amusement. This obviously was not the case with you, you admired and respected this fish and felt empathy towards it. I don’t know much about fishing but it seems like it could be fairly easy to hook a fish the wrong way and it’s out of your control.

I’m not trying to be that guy, but I just don’t understand the point of releasing a trout if it’s big enough to keep, I read your comment and all that but I thought people fish for them to harvest them since they are a delicious meal and since it was bleeding out a lot, wouldn’t it have been better to keep it?

Probably got him in the tongue. Unfortunately, that usually means eagle food. If it makes you feel better he'll feed another animal or become biomass that feeds insects etc.. Something will benefit.

If it's legal size EAT IT 😂 stop being a beta, sport fishing is basically torturing a fish for fun so put it out of its misery and save on groceries.

I don't understand anyone who can fish simply to throw it back. If it's the law. Don't fish. Humans are cruel. Fish might not feel it, but you're being violent to another creature for fun. Fact.

Just stop doing catch an release. If the lake has plenty of fish, just get one for dinner and hit the road If there aren't plenty. Just don't fish at all. Stop abusing animals for your entertainment. Pike an trout fight till total exhaustion in panic. This is only responsible for getting food, not for fun in my opinion. 🤷‍♂️

Its a fish, not a living being with a soul. God himself ate fish when He walked this earth. Yeah you hooked him incorrectly and yeah you feel bad, but its a fish and meant for food as Christ intended.
