Can get good tones when placed before a compressor. This pedal opens up when the level is around 3 o'clock. This pedal can sound good in the effects loop of a tube combo amp combined with other pedals, using a baritone. Gain and boost to personal preference, treble at 11 o' clock, bass between noon and 3.

Tried this today with an EHX Green Russian Muff into a Boss MT-2w. Even with a solid state Orange Super Crush 100 head, it hit the tone pretty well! I added a BBE Sonic Stomp onto the effects loop for some added punch.

Youre using a tube screamer clone on the ts808 setting and it’s true bypass, whereas the other guy was using a ts9 with a buffered bypass, that shit matters and it’s why you both got wildly different results

yeah the circuit on the butique looking "tube screamer was not a real tube scremer circuit, its actually better, but if you run an ibanez TS into any muff circuit it will sound great, other way round is garbage, with vintage fuzz people say you run OD after and ive heard that sound great, the 30 dollar Behringer Superfuzz has one setting sounds like an op amp big muff, another more like the classic one and a boost that gets dirty as you take the level over 50%

It has been discussed a 1000 times that the Μetal Zone pedal gives great results if you stick it to the FX loop of your amp. All the 'bees in a jar' noizes disapear and the mud goes away also. Tha is the only way I use it but mine came modded with the Bogner-Diesel mod as well! So maybe try this next time and just put your Big Muff in front of your amps clean channel with the MT2 in the fx loop and lets hear how it goes. I think you might be positively surprised by the tones you'll get.

My usual set up is always rat into muff, but I have been able to make a muff work into a Rat, but not much else. I actually hate the sound of tubescreamers in general, whether before or after Muffs. But I am surprised that the plumes is able to handle the muff quite well.
@PhilipMonsos6 ай бұрын
Isn't the thing to run the Metal Zone into the Muff not the other way around? This just sounds like you're overloading the gain/clipping stages of the MT-2, resulting in a weak, but bloated tone. A muff can usually handle alot of gain pushed into it, but "normal" distortions and overdrives tend to muffle (ironically) the sound of the muff beyond usability. Same concept as running a Tube screamer into a muff, instead of running a muff into a tube screamer.
@uncledimitarsguitarpedals6 ай бұрын
@@PhilipMonsos I don't like dirt pedals before muff, only after. There is a video for muff into tubescreamer, it sounds amazing

How would you compare this rad pedal to the pharaoh or pharaoh supreme, if youve had a chance to try those pedals from BAT too?
@uncledimitarsguitarpedals6 ай бұрын
Comparing to pharaoh supreme they are the same, the difference is that supreme has 4 more clipping options, and the mammal has overdrive (boost) side so if you don't want od in this pedal and want the best big muff get supreme(it is more easy to get I guess and a bit cheaper) The usua yellowl pharaoh is similar to supreme vit with a bit less tweakability, no clipping options to chose from, and instead of pre knob a two position switch hi lo So: Have no money but want the stable good big muff - get og pharaoh Want the good and super versatile big muff and have money to spare - get supreme Have money, love sleep/high on fire, want a cool and reliable big muff - get mammal
