This team’s greatest fault was being trapped in an era of VHS. They don’t play basketball like this anymore.

i've seen 4 game sweeps that looked more competitive then this 4-1 beatdown. i mean even beatdown is closer then this series was. heck it made what's his name run back to Cleveland. this was beautiful.

been a Celtics fan since 1982, yeah i know i'm old and know the 90s weren't kind to the Cs but not saying they are the best dynasty or anything like that but the 80s Celtics teams were amazing. the 84 and 85 teams were amazing too along with the 86 team. hard to explain but when you grow up in the Northeast it's just a different feeling and it's just part of life.

In 85-86, I saw all the Celtics games - either in person or on TV (except for the only home game they lost that year against the ‘Blazers). No doubt it was one of the greatest teams ever. They lost the first game of the season against the Nets (on a poor inbounding play by Walton I believe), lost a double overtime game at Dallas (another amazing game from Larry) and a Christmas ot game against the Knicks (after being up by double digits). So they could’ve easily won 70 that year.
