The radio does not have Opengd77 installed it is using the stock firmware.

What is weird to me... I have it in GMRS mode, and I have GMRS frequencies in it and have repeaters programmed in on the same GMRS repeater frequencies as the stock repeater frequencies (So i may have multiples on the same frequency pair but different DTS or CTMS codes)... and that all works great, but if I try to input a simplex GMRS frequency with a code... DTX or just Code.. on a new channel... it will beept at me when I try to transmit with it even if it is setup exactly like the stock included codes. and it won't let me copy paste them either it seems. I don't understand how it is authorized for GMRS (in the mode) and won't let me enter legal channels that are simplx with a code and it won't work.

No, the worst I have done is my keyboard disconnects when I PTT too close to the computer , the RF freaks out my usb controller

10 watts is great for mobile and portable operations. Attach it to good antenna and it will make a long range. This is something the Yaesu, Kenwood, Icom, walkie talkies just can not compete.

There are two versions. The UV-25 and the UV-25 Pro Max. The second on has a scramble option in the menu and airband. Inside this bendable antenna is a very thin antenna like the Signal stick.

If you’re expecting it to repeat back what you transmitted, that’s not what a repeater does.

isn't there 3 ways to boot up.....ham, GMRS, \Normal. Maybe it booted up in Normal and that's how it accepted both

Using the included USB Cable. installed the driver and is working in device manager. Get this error when tryng to "Download from radio": UV-17 or UV-17PRO both give error: "Error Readering data from the radio: Not the amount of data we want."Cable is new and came with the unit. Connection is pushed all the way in. Anyone know how to fix?!

It's like putting a stopwatch on an AGA cooker 😂 I'm new to ham radio, currently learning the foundation course, but I like to listen to my local repeater, anyway, bought this radio myself to have a listen and noticed that option and immediately thought there will be some high level reason for this which is beyond me, good to know it's a weird option to have it 😂

146.340 would be better for the tx frequency ..... If you gointo the cps and click on vfo mode youll see a spot on the bottom left where you can input a 00.600 offset. And everytime you enter a repeater you just have to click - /+ Our offsets are pretty standard in Canada .600khz either way.

Love your videos. I just got the Talkpod Plus 8 watt. I am really confused as to how one programs the name and frequencies that show on the screen. I have managed to name one repeater which is my local repeater and that name appears in the lower pane, in the upper pane is says no name? Can you do a video on how to set this up properly. Thanks.

No , police I believe is Digital P25 and encrypted in most places
