Many people don’t realise Michael was a mainstay of Stevie Wonders early band and a monster session guitarist before he did the whole 80s pop thing. If you want to hear him tearing it up in a fusion context check out From Me to You by George Duke and Jazziz by John Serry.

Originally, This song was about a serial killer. It was written with a horror movie in mind. "He's a maniac!" Nobody wanted it, FLASHDANCE picked it and the rest is history. Masterpiece, either way...

Michael was a brilliant guitarist. That being said, this whole thing is fake af. as was the norm in the 80's, and so is now. Look at the keytar dude, he's not even hitting the keys lol

2:47 The guitar part starts before he starts playing. There's also a bit where the line stops while he's still miming. Another part where he's not singing into the mic. And of course, it sounds exactly like the record, not like a live performance.
