Your video showed me how to remove the clip, so the cleaner head could be freed. I then found the pipe was totally blocked and after removing all that fluff, no surprise our Dyson worked again ! Thank you.

The reason why people are buying inexpensive vacuums because people do not have the money like they did back in the day to buy expensive machines and expensive doesn't always mean better because when you were using that shark it was basically doing the same thing that that require was doing only difference is one motor brush is plastic and the other one is made out of metal and I will always told that metal brush rolls have better agitation on carpets in the plastic cheap brush rollers that they make on the Hoovers and the sharks and the pistols that they're making today even the commercial sanitaire it's a good machine as well kind of inexpensive but it does the job as well of course when you get into commercial vacuums as you will know a lot of the uprights don't have in the commercial sanitaire upright vacuums usually don't come with tools on board so you got to get the Little mighty mite canister with the tools and things to do your crevices and furniture but the commercial sanitaire is a brand that I use in my home even today and absolutely love it I had a riccar vacuum but mine had a plastic roller it didn't have the metal or the wooden and it was okay but as they always say you get what you pay for so my vacuum was around $250 when I got it about 6 years ago it was the White model that had the holes built on to it but mine did not have the metal brush roller on it or the wooden brush roller it was like a plastic tight brush roller and have you ever did a demonstration on your channel with the rainbow home cleaning system and thank you for your expertise on floor care industry we greatly appreciate it we don't have a lot of vacuum shops here in Cincinnati like we used to used to be a whole bunch of them years ago but everybody that I'm retired or just closed up so when I see these on KZbin I get over excited and glad because there are new machines out that we may not know about buffers carpet cleaners air purifiers also I have a question just Miele still make vacuum cleaners cuz I always wanted to get the S7 upright vacuum but I think those also use those plastic brush rollers thank you and will continue to watch
@ClassicVacuum
@ClassicVacuum 24 күн бұрын
Thank you for the comment. Miele does not make the S7, or any upright vacuums for that matter. You can still find some used ones that are still in good shape. I think a plastic brush could have just as good agitation the metal, it's more about the shape of the brush and the material the bristles are made out of. Metal is nice because you can get parts and repair the brush bar vs replacing the whole thing.

How would you compare this to the proteam proforce 1500xp? Does the brush roll turn off to vacuum hard surfaces?
@ClassicVacuum
@ClassicVacuum 29 күн бұрын
The brush does not turn off the the Lindhaus. It is a carpet only machine. The Protream is also mostly for carpet and will not excel on hard surface cleaning. I feel the Lindhaus does a better job cleaning, though I do not have testing to back it up. The Lindhaus is also more repairable and will last longer. They are engineered to last 10 years in a commercial environment.

The vacuum provides water and food source for the bugs. The house could be perfectly clean. Water was good filtration in the 50's and 60's be we can do much better with bags and filters these days. Modern Rainbow vacuums have a HEPA filter that gets caked with mud because so much dirt get's past the water. I know folks love the water vacuums, to each his own, but as a repair person I would not use it in my house. Thanks for the comment!

If that riccar had a slighty larger brush pulley or a slightly smaller motor pulley it would work a bit better to really work out the debris in the carpet, as the debris came out much more at a certain point when the brush roller slowed down.

I had a cap lid stuck in the nozzle I ran the water hose through it to push it out but red light still comes on belts and micro switch is fine sweeper picks up very well where else should I look? If hepa filter needs replaced would this cause the brushroller from spinning?
@ClassicVacuum
@ClassicVacuum Ай бұрын
So is your issue the red brush light? A lot depends on your specific model. Make sure everything spins free, motor, brush, drive wheel (if you have one). Many times hair get's in places and messes things up. Remove the brush, will the motor work with the belt and brush disconnected? That is a quick test to direct your attention to the brush or the motor/switch/pcb. Filters would not affect the brush head in any way, it's an independent system.

Nice comparison video. Thinking about the standard model, less bells and whistles..heard of PCB problems for the D and P models. My dealer sells all the r25 models, but it doesn't sell R30 or R40 tandem air units cause he got tired of the PCB issues with those models. Taconi and PCB board issues, not good.
@ClassicVacuum
@ClassicVacuum Ай бұрын
It depends. The design is good but the manufacturing partner could be better. There are problems from time to time but they don't affect all machines. All Riccar vacuums have long warranties so should you have a defective PCB it's going to fail in the first year typically.

Good video. But I can hardly hear the volume on it. You may want to redo it with the volume louder. I have an Oreck XL with the "VIN" tag missing on the back. Can you tell me what model it is based on these clues: 1...the bag is gray and white, saying "ORECK CELOC HYPOALLERGENIC FILTERING SYSTEM." The white brace on the bottom of the bag says "XL XTENDED LIFE" 2... the floor head is the "Square" type that says "XL ORECK" above the headlight 3... The handle is white saying "The Helping Hand" with "patent number D294, 988; 5, 016, 315" on the left side, and "Oreck" on the right side. Handle has a black two speed switch on it. 4... it has a wooden brush roll with red brushes. 5... it has a four amp motor (that is loud) 6... cord extending from the top of the handle is about 30 feet long 7... bottom of the floor head uses the tiny forward wheels located just behind the side brushes(which are on order) 8... what I could make out from what's left of the VIN tag is that it says "ORECK XL New Orleans XX123 U.S.A." Followed by "E5721"...Two "UL" logos…and "LISTED 296B." Thank you for your assistance. Hope this helps.

Is the blue brushroll OK on finished hardwood floors, or should one get the green brushroll? Thanks for your advice!
@ClassicVacuum
@ClassicVacuum 2 ай бұрын
I personally would not hesitate to use the blue, however I just have run of the mill LVT and Tile flooring. If you are unsure, or feel your floors are delicate, test it in an inconspicuous aria for any scratching. A $30 brush roll is much less expensive then new flooring. The blue will perform better on carpet, providing more aggressive agitation, then the green.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I just received this vacuum as a gift from a friend. She got it from someone’s family that passed away and knew nothing about the vacuum. She didn’t even know if it would work. I couldn’t figure out why it didn’t have suction. Then I saw the part that you were working on in this video ( I don’t know what it’s called) was loose. I spent almost an hour fighting with it trying to put it back on. The problem is the person who put it back on before me who owned the vacuum put it back on backwards. That’s probably why they weren’t using the vacuum cleaner. I found your video and put it on properly and it was so easy. Again, thank you so much.
