@gettingitdone1
@gettingitdone1 8 күн бұрын
You could use paper clips to connect in to the terminals. Just to clarify this video is showing you how to disengage the park brake when the switch mechanism won't do it. Watch the video from 1:20 where it explains that you need to apply power (12v) to the terminals and which way around to do that. Make sure you are doing this on the park brake actuator side of the plug, not on the plug going to the control side on the car. You will need to get power and earth from a jump pack or battery.

Hello! I have the same issue as yours except it is a Honda Vezel. Just to summarise what you did is to get a second hand gearbox and a new clutch set?
@gettingitdone1
@gettingitdone1 19 күн бұрын
Yes, so you can check for voltage at the phase connections to the battery as shown with all the appropriate safety equipment, and if there's nothing there it's in the transmission. So this was a second hand transmission including the clutch assembly. Just the calibration was the real hassle on this one.

@gettingitdone1
@gettingitdone1 22 күн бұрын
5:42 is where we talk about the bass line adjustment, but it is a bit of trial and error. you need to adjust it so that reverse can be selected, but so that the lock out ring has to be lifted in order to do so. So if you can't get across to select reverse, you may need to loosen the bolt on the shaft, move the gear stick to the right slightly (away from reverse) then tighten again. Also check my other video on the bush that fails in the selector housing as that can also cause selection issues. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jV7Yn6KVhpmbgrsfeature=shared

Gosh! Who would have thought that with all this advanced tech there are still problems? @gettingitdone1
@gettingitdone1 26 күн бұрын
Another common cause of smoke on start up would be a blown head gasket or cracked head. A failing battery would cause it to turn over slowly, but unlikely to cause smoke from the exhaust.

Normally we would only replace the valve if it was faulting. However, EGR valves can often give trouble, so if it's a high mileage vehicle you might consider doing it while you're there.

Seen your video on EGR cooler replacement .There is even a more easier way to carry out this repair I am ford tech and the trick is to remove both wiper arms,the plastic cowling held in by plastic clips just need a flat blade screw driver for these clips .Once top cowling is removed go for the metal plate that holds the wiper motor assembly remove all the 10mm bolts disconnect the wiring loom to the wiper motor note if you have fender indicators cut the wire which goes to right side only will need re-soldering when refitting.Should give you so so much more room to get all the bolts that hold both the EGR and cooler.I split the EGR away from the cooler to make it easy to remove cooler as you did on the left side And for more excess remove the 4 torx bolts that secure the EGR motor I believe the bolts a E25 or E30 1/4 drive ratchet,extension bar. or try a torx Allen key. This method applies to both BT50,Ford Ranger 3.2 auto or manual 2WD or 4wd.This method gives greater access and the whole job should take between 2 to 3 hours.

I have one on my hoist at work and I was looking at it today saying how the fuck. But this makes total sense thank god I came across this comment. Just to review so I can get it done fast as possible for the customer, - Wipers off - Window cowl panel off - Wiper motor off - Is cutting the indicator wires a necessity for removing everything? - split valve from cooler and remove then remove cooler. Does this work the same ways for the auto 3.2 that has the metal pipe that is held to the bottom bolt of the egr valve? Also, will the px3’s go into limp mode after the egr is blanked or do they just display an engine light. Cheers in advance mate this comments a massive time saver

Hard to say, but I'd think you would want to be a reasonably handy DIYer. Knowing that those banjo type oil feed fittings need copper washers on both sides of them will help avoid disasters too.

@gettingitdone1
@gettingitdone1 2 ай бұрын
Disadvantages would be the vehicle not running correctly and a loss of power and driveability, because the throttle either won't open or be in the wrong position. The danger would be if it went the other way and decided to default to open instead of closed. That would be a really dangerous situation of you're driving although that scenario would be pretty rare I would think.

Yes EGR coolers can crack and leak exhaust files externally. You can cut a length of garden hose, put one end to your ear, move the other end around the area you suspect the leak is coming from (with the engine running). You should be able to pin point exactly where the leak is.

My oil light only comes on when warm and at idle when rpm is below 1100.. give it a little gas and it goes away.. pressure drops to near 0 at idle tho.. gotta either be crappy vvt actuator, pump, screen or crappy filter/ oil.. or all of the above..

I would definitely start with checking this pick up screen, change oil and filter at the same time. Problems are more likely to show up when the engine is hot, as the oil thins out. And lower rpm, means the oil pump isn't working as hard to pull it through.
