First: you get the class and sub-class ids from the ClassDescriptions table, not the Progressions one. Second: you really glossed over the GlobalTemplate, without explaining anything. In the last 3 days I've been trying to make a customized origin character, but I can't - it always gets the default appearance during character creation. From what I've seen, the GlobalTemplate is something related to the voice. But I really can't find how to link my character's Root Template to the origin in the UUID editor...
@Paaskegoesboomkin12 күн бұрын
While it might be optimal to get class/sub-class ids from ClassDescriptions, progression works also fine since it refers back to ClassDescription. A GlobalTemplate is just a RootTemplate placed in the world and made global by clicking in the global tag. Once it's done you can link it's GUID, to your UUIDs. Without it you can't presumably link your character to the UUID editor. If you're talking about the UUID voice related tables, currently doesn't do much, at most it helps you limit the assignment of the default player voices but it is not possible yet to my knowledge to add new ones or origin specific ones. A globaltemplate is just a unit placed in the world accessible by all levels with scripts due to its set GUID. You can find all the global ones if you enable them in the world outliner sample.

@@Paaskegoesboomkin okay, so it seems like the GlobalTemplate is precisely what I need in order to make my origin look the way I want, instead of using the default preset for the race. When you say "placed in the world", does it matter where I place them? Do I just open the Basic_Level_A and put them there?
@Paaskegoesboomkin12 күн бұрын
@@Khantia You also need to flag your origin as unique in the UUID origins. You can place them anywhere in any accessible level though if you intend them to be recruit able companions place them at their recruitment spot.
@Khantia12 күн бұрын
@@Paaskegoesboomkin I tried that. I placed it near the crash site to test if it'd work and I copied the GUID from the World Outliner to the UUID Editor, but now the game just crashes when I select my origin in character creation :(
@Paaskegoesboomkin12 күн бұрын
@@Khantia Just making sure you added the ID to the GlobalTemplate and not the DefaultTemplate in the Origins UUID. In this case keep the DefaultTemplate empty. I will note though if this doesn't fix it it's properly been to long since I worked on this specifically to remember how to fix it.

I'm loving the showcase! Can you fully customize him like Durge can? This is a huge mark in BG3 modding!
@Paaskegoesboomkin3 ай бұрын
I disabled it cause Vrakwunax is a specific person with a specific background like the other origin, not a self insert like Durge. That being said like the other origins you could respec him which might like the other origins make part of his story not make sense.

@Paaskegoesboomkin3 ай бұрын
I know there was other people in the modding community talking about making a recruitable durge. Durge has though some problems as a companion since he is what the player thinks he is. So either he'll be a completely blank non-interesting state or not what people might imaging. While polarizing to some people Vrakwunax (The character in the video) isn't quite durge. That being said a recruitable durge npc companion would had been very polarizing if Larian had made one.

@@Paaskegoesboomkin Yap, I understand that your char not Durge =3 I mean the way u do it could be the way to create one one day. About redemtion arc that I think u refering to - dunno Astarian has something similar. Amnesia could make him not really tolkative and dialogs is a thin ice true I'm not saying - do the Durge an any way. I respect that u do your own char

@@AkELkA_dds My point is an origin character should have personality. Durge by default is the players. If he's suppose to be shaped by the players choices that is a lot of different dialogue and interaction you'd have to make. Also lastly my point with Durge would be very polarizing is he's existence will take away choices from the player (Spoiler). But yes there was a couple people interested in making a durge mod though I haven't seen anything recently update to that project. :)

Hello mate this is great! I would love to do voice acting if you ever think of creating a campaign! Hit me up!
@Paaskegoesboomkin3 ай бұрын
I'm not per say creating a whole campaign just additional content for the original game. I will eventually look for volunteer voice actors later for a few roles for the project once the main animation, voice recordings of myself and script is written for those characters. Either way it will be an open casting call.

Randomly stumbled upon this in my recommended videos. Did you do his voice lines yourself? The sound quality sounds really good for an indie/solo fan mod, and I do enjoy the creaky/raspy inflection you have on it. Curious what your audio setup is if you are the VA for this character!

Thanks, I am indeed the Voice actor of Vrakwunax. I do not have a studio or anything for sound proofing, I use an ADX afcmia0117 gaming microphone (Had to many issues with headset microphones way back when I got my hands on this).
