Paul Williams song, written for a Wells Fargo commercial. The Carpenters' version became the theme song for countless marriages in the early to mid 1970s. I still miss that voice. While she and Richard and a record company exec were being driven to the studio, (not for this song) Karen was in the back seat, rehearsing her vocal. The exec suddenly realized how quietly she was singing and assumed she'd crank it up for the recording, but she didn't. She just kept singing in that quiet voice. Karen's and Richard's "secret" to their sound was that the microphone LOVED her voice, amplifying the sotto voce delivery to rich and powerful layers of timbre.

@@Chucky-hf6oe my older sister gor married at an out door state park in hocking county of Ohio called conkles hollow.Her and her husband hired a flutist for the ceremony and I remember how beautiful the sound was as he played this song and it echoed down that hollow, what a great event that was❤️
