I totally disagree with you, I have 3, 4 tier tray farms, and i have no smell problems, or moisture problems, if it smells your feeding it too much? My worms finish all the food I give them in 2 weeks. I agree worms follow the water, but they breed like crazy there too. I separate them by moving them down and then i trap them in feeding zones to remove them. The only time I had a problem was when it got too hot and I forgot to place ice pac on top.

i,ve always though rice is bad for worm bins. i also freeze all fruit/vegetable waste before it goes in bin-it breaks down much quicker and add some cedar shavings to top layer for the aroma.
